Been on a Paint It Black kick the last day or two.

The only time I saw them in SF I got to talk with Dan outside. I was talking about some bullshit that had just happened to me and all he said was "Dude, life fucking sucks 99 percent of the time. Just never forget that the 1 percent that doesnt suck is the percent that is worth living for."

Dan is the most inspirational posi motherfucker in the world. Seriously- who else would have a stroke and rather than settling down afterwards (he has a PhD and has a real job/life/family) goes and makes an even more awesome band? All his bands rule but PIB is definitely my favorite.

haha, chickenfoot! the only radio i'll listen to is npr. otherwise, it will be silence if something has gone awry with my cd player/ipod/etc.

in relation to that, the lid on this little boom box i've been using while doing work on the house for some reason wouldn't stay closed so i had to tape it shut to get it to work and untape/retape it everytime i wanted to change a cd. since im preparing to move i don't have a lot of cds that i didn't pack and couldnt use the ipod because it doesnt have anywhere for it to plug in....so i listened to

off with their heads-in desolation on repeat for the first couple of hours, then the draft-in a million pieces on repeat for a few hours, and finished it off with a storm of light-a we wept the black oceans within for several hours.

Since im drunk Im listening to Lucero.

1372 Overton Park is such a great album. I think the horns and all that other shit really made a difference in the quality of the album. I could rant about this band for days, so instead im going to have another glass of gin and fall asleep.

Still have not listened to Overton Park, except when a song pops up on Pandora.. not sure how I feel about them horns.

Also, saw Larry and His Flask the other wknd and could be possibly totally into it.

Modern Life Is War. Still one of THE few. I havent found a band (a new band) in a looooong time that could touch them. Strong and even unique sound they had. Jeffrey Eaton, maan can he write.

Im taking suggestions, but I fair nothing that has come out in the past 3-5 years can touch them when it comes to HC.
