Scott and Shanes annual inksmith and rogers xmas party roadtrip

So Scott Sterling and I went on another roadtrip. This time of year it is always to Inksmith and Rogers to stay with the Wilsonian Institute of Tattooing...ah..I mean Mike Wilson. Always a good time. But this trip was especially eye opening because we went to Augusta Georgia to Interview Jennie and Ledann Peace. The legacy of Tex and Ann Peace of Portsmith Va. Cap Coleman finished tattooing working for Tex and Ann and Scott and had met Jennie and Ledann last summer at the augusta conventio

The List

I don't get tattoos impulsively; my current financial situation and personal life just doesn't allow for it. That gives me plenty of time to consider who I want to be tattooed by on trips, at conventions, or on my birthday (the the three times I set aside for tattoos). I started thinking about my next tattoo (always one tattoo ahead usually) and decided to come up with a list. The list is in no particular order, as fate decides who'll be closest when one of the three opportunities comes up. -St

10 Questions with Inked Photography

First let me say that I love the interviews here. I like how they are personal and the stories that are told. Very well done. But for me, sometimes and hour can be too long. I try to find artist interviews often. Some are good, some are bad. So me with my travels and the people I meet I decided to try and take a stab at this blog thing. By no means am I any type of writer but I plan on giving this a shot. I call it, "10 questions with Inked Photography". Click the link and let me know y

Avery Taylor & The Three Questions

One of the many great things that have occurred since we started LST is that I have met many new people through the site. Some I've had the opportunity to then meet face-to-face while others not yet, though I hope to. Avery Taylor is one of those people I look forward to meeting the next time I find myself up his way or if he comes down here. Not only do we share an enjoyment for tattoos but we also work in similar professions so every now and then we private message bac

Part 2.... Been a year. . .

With Keet D'Arms in the basement... then when we were at our wits end, we ended up being layed over in Houston to fly into Tampa, during that show, only to not make it out of the room for two days straight, I finally ended up renting a car, and driving back to Jacksonville... Only to wake up the next day on the verge of a nervous break down and none other then my Mother waking me up to get me out the front door to leave Richard, I went home on the premiss that I needed a break to rest. Only I

So. . . It has been a year... Time Flies. Part 1

It's been nice being back in the personal space of our own. And it's been nice to actually put the stuff you pay for to use for a minute before packing it all up and leaving on yet another road trip across the states... I am super grateful that I got to do all the shit I got to do, it was a "blast" for lack of a better term. Coming up on the SFO show this year, and good lord that time has flown by. I mean it was only this past 25th Richard and I got married. It's been a surreal last week or so

Eric inksmith william Fowkes and more

been a while since i blogged...It was a helluva summer,we had l some guests, kandi everett, mike wilson, eric inksmith, and I interviewed Eric, which was an honor,Eric being one of the patriarchs of Inksmith and Rogers, a master colorer, and the guy that groomed Mike Wilson,as we all know Mike has raised the bar professionally and personally in our midst,we could all take a page out of Mikes playbook. Erics interview ,in its entirety will be in a future TAM and I think it will be fantastic,Eric h

one fucking year.

So....One fucking year already? I can't believe it has been that long. seems to fly by with everything going on you never really keep track of the beginning point? At least I never do, but thank god somebody paid attention because I sure wasn't. When loch told me about it I was surprised to say the least. I would like to thank everybody who has participated in this place, from the blogs, to photos, to the stories and even bumble nuts who i think may secretly be marrying ursula, "they really ha

Dan Dringenberg Tattoo Artist Interview - (sorry for the delay!)

Dan Dringenberg hails from an era of tattooing that was scary, violent and otherwise hostile. I started tattooing in this period, cutting my teeth with a big biker guy named Miller. I'm sure that many people will understand when I say that Dan has changed tattooing in many ways, but most notably with his black back pack. It maybe true that every corner of this business is currently saturated with suppliers ripping each other off, but it wasn't like that back then. Dan was one of the first p
