By finally found that image, do you mean Googled tribal tattoo and found it on the first page. If you really want this tattoo I would suggest going into a shop or a few shops and talk to a tattooer about pricing. But I can tell you it will be expensive and take multiple sittings.

Is that tattoo actually real? I've always wondered, someone ages ago pointed out this stupid photoshop mistake on it, but I'm not bright enough to see it myself.

Either way, why would you want someone else's tattoo on you? Google Images isn't a directory of "what you can get".

It will cost somewhere between the price of a large sandwich and the price of a house.

But seriously, listen to David.

also, that's one of the 10 pictures we see multiple times every day from customers, along with celebrity tattoos and the wonky outline-only tiny swallows.

Let me guess, you don't want it as high up toward your neck, or as low down your arm and a little bit less across the stomach?

I wished all the guys who used to bring this to me would bring Tom of Finland drawings instead. Usually the same motivation but much better designed, drawn and a hell of a lot more fun to tattoo and wear.

The best advice would be to check out guys who specialise in large black tattoos and get them to design something that actually fits your body and works with it instead of this squiggly, ugly crap. - There's a tribal/blackwork thread here on LST somewhere. I know you're not going to read it.

LOL, best suggestion, /closed thread.

honestly, if this is not a troll, then we need to have a "READ THIS FIRST!" section on the board, telling people that the doors to good shops in their areas aren't closed, and that google isn't broken. this is getting annoying quickly.

photoshop mistake is in the upper right corner you can see the tribal in black (over the black background) as the image was placed over

or how the man's chest naturally curves but the tattoo continues in a perfectly straight line over it as if it's flat.

for reals though- check out the blackwork thread if you haven't been scared away yet Craftybigdog

the guy is standing in front of a tribal background, the tattoo doesn't match the pattern in the background.

I love this forum but the responses to this thread remind me of another shitty tattoo forum that I found before LST. Who are we to clown the tattoo that this guy wants? As people with more tattoo knowledge than the average TLC watcher, its our duty to help people, especially noobs, to get good quality work, not make them feel dumb for wanting something that we wouldn't necessarily get. I know that I have tattoos that others wouldn't get but I really don't give a shit, they're MY tattoos. Just because this dude wants some tribal doesn't mean the rest of us have to

Maybe he's a troll, maybe not but I do know that they're trying to make this forum grow and with that growth is gonna be more people asking questions like this. Maybe that growth isn't the best idea for this crowd.

If Crafty wants to share where he's from maybe someone could suggest a local artist that won't fuck him up....

Sorry for the rant but shit...... arrogance and tattoos don't make a pretty picture, IMO....

I think arrogance and tattoos have been working pretty well together since the emergence of youth culture in the 1950's, probably earlier.

I think it's fine to poke light hearted fun at laziness and trolls. As long as constructive suggestions and criticism are also offered.

I don't think anyone here made fun of him because of the tribal. It was because of his laziness, the terrible design of the photoshopped reference and the troll-potential.

The good advice was for the benefit of anyone else who may check out this thread and on the off-chance Craftybigdog isn't a troll.

The difference (for me) between LST and other forums, apart from the fact it was started by people I respect, is that a hell of a lot of people here know what they are talking about and can offer rock-solid advice.

The tribal thread had some amazing tattooers suggested, with links to galeries and info on getting in touch with some of those guys.

For me, suffering fools and tattoos are like chalk and cheese.

Of course it's photoshop. He's not standing in front of anything. He's been terribly masked or cut out. SOmeone tried to add some depth-of-field by blurring one of his arms and shoulder. The design has been laid over with a transparency effect.

Someone did put some effort into designing the shapes and where they would be placed, but they didn't know shit about tribal tattoos and the way muscles move. Some of the things that make it obvious that the dude in front of the camera had blank skin are, among others: the curve nearest his neck would crease and wrinkle when his head was turned that way and the the same is true of the tiny point peaking out from his armpit.

I also remember Stewart in a previous post,in a previous thread making reference to the picture in question as appearing in a gym flyer and a source of irritation to him -not his exact words .

Haha, I knew you guys would know how it's been photoshopped. I always knew there was something "off" about it, it's just not even done that well.

That picture's been on the internet since forever. I wonder if the guy in the picture is secretly ashamed. Or, if he even knows his torso's been shared on the internet so many times!

As for comments about arrogance- I totally agree, though I don't really think I see arrogance here. I think people are just a lot more straight-forward on here, and don't sugar coat things if they're going to say something another person might not like. If we're all old enough to have tattoos, we're all adults here, so I think that's totally fine.

guys, it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that tattooers/tattoo people arn't normally the friendliest 'leave a smile on your face even thought i think you're a moron' type people... we tend to be 'i will show you with my facial expression and my words that i think you are asking a dumb question' type people, even to each other... so yeah... i don't think it's arrogance, i think it's a large group of people who have always been outsiders in some way and those type of people tend to be a little less friendly than your average soccer mom or that chubby nurse you see walking to work every day with a huge smile on her face... there's a reason we're all covered in tattoos and it's not because we're normal happy people

I'm a normal happy person. I just need a few beers to get there sometimes. Also, I actually find that I am overly polite way too often, unless that person is an extreme deutsche bank, in which case I usually end up just laughing at them. STOP PIGEONHOLING US URSULA CMON

Haha, I never know if I'm a normal happy person or a miserable cow- depends how many people have irritated me that day! I'm overly polite too though, a lot of the time, though Pat and I may be anomalies, haha.

Here's the link to the blackwork tribal thread Stewart referenced. Plus there are some other cool tribal ish threads and pictures just take a look around.....

I echo David and Stewart......find a good tattooer and let them have at it. Let us know if you decide you'd like some tattooer suggestions based on your location or upcoming travel.....

As for the other stuff written in here, for a second I had to check my url to make sure I was on LST and not the other tattoo forums...... With that being said this thread/user does seems a bit fishy as this image is on every other tattoo internet site as their icon but lets try to stay positive and not scare off potential new tattoo customers or LSTers. Lets try to educate them so they can get good tattoos and support good tattooers all the while learning how getting a tattoo should be done.

As to the new user ideas, Patrick/Gougetheeyes hit me up a few weeks ago with an idea that we will hopefully be incorporating sooner than later to help them navigate the site initially. If you have ideas on this please pm me or any of the other Team LST within the next week as we will be hashing it out at our upcoming meeting. Or feel free to use the LST Suggestions and Feedback area of the forum. Thanks everyone

deutsche bank

Best. Ever.

just to clarify i didn't mean everyone who is heavily tattooed are some kind of crazy homicidal nut case.. i just mean we tend to be more on the rough side of life rather than whatever the opposite of that is.. in my experience it takes a certain type of person to be heavily tattooed.. i'm not talking about people with 1-5 tattoos i'm talking those of us who have a compulsion to become totally covered.. like for example when you see another person on the street you don't know who's totally covered in any kind of tattooing you already know a little about them.. I still stand by my statement that the reason we're covered in so many tattoos isn't because we're normal people...

    • One of the good points about saniderm is covering the wound while it is still fresh and CLEAN. I don't know anyone who has put it on after 2-3 days but if you trap ANY dirt or bacteria under it you are literally laying an infection nest. I wouldn't do it.  Not sure where on your body the tattoo is, and 3 days into healing it shouldn't really still be oozing - but possibly cover it with a very clean t-shirt or similar and if it's still stuck to that in the morning then use warm water to disengage and then gently clean with antibacterial soap.
    • No, it doesn't work like that.  And for what it's worth, in my eyes - it doesn't look "wrong". Aside from the link in the previous thread, I've never done any research on Keloid scarring. Check that subject out. If it bothers you that much, perhaps see a dermatologist.
    • HE'S GOT THE BUUUUUUUGGGG!!! 😁 @minisoda not sure if you've let us know who the artist is yet, but feel free to share! check out their prior work and see what they're into. if they usually do traditional colors, they might prefer to stick to that aesthetic. if they do some crazy shit, they might be open to new ideas.  i think adding an olive branch in an open talon would look a bit strange. during your next shading and color session, bounce your addition and background ideas off your artist and see what they think. in the end, you're wearing it and they're doing it, so your two opinions count way more than us shmucks.🤓
