I really didn't know what to post but I wanted to get the ball rolling for me. This was a piece I did last week. My buddy that helps me with my website came to me and wanted something to do with with "Bad Luck Good Speed". It is supposed to be "God Speed" but he didn't want anything religious and he considers himself to live in the fast lane. Haha.

Anyways, I had a really hard time trying to think of something to do... what I finally came up with is a horse running away from a nuclear bomb strapped to his back. Kinda saying, you're fucked no matter how fast you run. Anyways... any thoughts, feedback or anything would be tight. Thanks!

looks like a rad tattoo man..my 2 cents would be...the head on the horse is too small...and the dust clouds could use something in them like dots or something...not too many but just

something to make it "dirtier"..all in all its a good tattoo..i'd wear it

It looks awesome! My only critique is I guess a style choice, I would have broken up the leaves in the wreath on the bottom into two leaves, right where they split in the middle, bring the line all the way into the black. But that's just a style thing...The tattoo is applied very nicely!

thanks guys!

@hambone, yeah i was debating on the dots in the dust clouds... co-worker talked me out of it haha. didnt think about the head being too small though.

@Kevin, yeah i bust out that olive leaf stuff in a lot of tattoos and came accross some way older designs not to long ago and just thought id switch it up for a change. I got to find something new to use besides leafing and flowers to frame things in.

Yeah, I've seen 'em before like that on some acetates and thought that maybe somebody got lazy when they were cutting them or something. But there's no need to frame tattoos with anything different. Leaves and flowers look good.

    • That's super! Great contrast.  Love the commitment, too.
    • I like it!  Roses would work really nice. Ferns?  Sextant? Tools? Engine? Close-up of a Scarab or other bug?
    • Hey guys, Reviving the full back piece experience thread. So I had never been tattooed before and last year I decided to dive in for my first one and begin my traditional Japanese full back, (cause if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly right 😂) The tattooer is Matt Collins at Unseen in Adelaide. I know I don’t have anything to compare it to, but having read this thread I know what you all say about full backs is 100% true, it is damn hard work. We’ve just completed all of the background and that last session shading in rocks over the tailbone was definitely brutal. About 20 ish hours in I think. I love the finished product though, and can’t wait to see the cranes and leaves once we get into those, mostly black and grey with some red on leaves and cranes heads, haven’t decided on the omamori design yet.
