Yesterday I was shown a newer site called pinterest.com and was wondering if any LSTers are using it? Or are there other sites like it you are using?

Pinterest seemed cool for having mobile access to your favorite buttons if you are on multiple computers......

Alright so we, LST, setup a page....trying to figure it out and see how it goes. If you want to see here it is LST Pinterest Page. It is kind of frustrating that some of the tattoo artist, blogs and shops we follow regularly we can not add to pinterest due to how their websites are built...blahumbug

I had to request an invitation so if you want one let me know.....

I'm on there my user name is, yup you guessed it, Ursula Thomson. I use it to collect images of fashion I enjoy as well as wedding ideas. Good way to keep it in one place and be able to click that image and go right to where it came from. Plus I really, really like shopping.

As much as I'm on social media, Pinterest is one I just have no use for. I'm a huge Evernote fan and with the app on my Mac and iPhone, and the Firefox extention that allows for "clipping" - I'd rather just have articles and stuff stored locally then in the "cloud" for everyone to see.

I'm also a big evernote fan for the basic stuff (To Do lists, quick info, etc) but a program called BasKet is truly epic.

Also back on topic. I do remember reading an interesting article that said the demographics of Pintrest.

I've started using Pinterest quite a bit recently. For the longest time, I just didn't get it, but discovered that it's fucking brilliant for recipes. I do all of the cooking in our house and we're vegan (well, my fiancee eats cheese, but I'm vegan so all of the meals we eat together are), so I get really stoked when I find a tasty, easy recipe, and I spend a fair amount of time on recipe blogs/food porn sites. Pinterest makes it way easy to keep track of all of the shit I want to try making, and since I started using it, I haven't had to spend 20 minutes cursing while trying different combinations of words on google trying to find something I stumbled across a few days back. I still haven't really got into the social aspect of it though.

Yup, "soccer moms" is the biggest user group by far. The real problem with Pinterest is that there is no $$ rolling in and in order to monetize the site, they will inevitably have to sell ad space. When that happens, virtually all content on the site will violate most US copyright laws, and the site will be forced to shut down.

How would selling ad space violate copyright laws?

How would selling ad space violate copyright laws?

This article: What You Should Know About Pinterest and Copyright | PCWorld

and this one: Pinterest

Outline most of the problem that they will face. Part of the issue is:

"You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Cold Brew Labs, its officers, directors, employees and agents, harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or in any way connected with (i) your access to or use of the Site, Application, Services or Site Content, (ii) your Member Content, or (iii) your violation of these Terms.”

Which translates to mean that if a photographer sues you for using an image illegally on Pinterest, you have to pay for your own lawyer and Pinterest’s lawyer, along with any charges against you and any charges against Pinterest.

    • I was prepared for my knee ditch to be a tough spot to heal. I was not prepared for it to get INFECTED! Ugh. Fortunately, I sought medical care as soon as something seemed amiss: abnormal redness around the tattoo about a week out from getting it done, and the worst tattoo itchiness I’ve ever experienced (I actually thought I’d gotten a mosquito bite ON the fresh tattoo at first.) I’ve been on antibiotics for a few days and it hasn’t drastically improved, but the itchiness has subsided and at least it doesn’t appear to be getting worse. And the tattoo still seems to be healing normally. Not sure where I went awry with this healing as I babied this tattoo more than any of my others. I only washed twice a day instead of three, but I also wasn’t leaving the house at all and had it exposed to air almost constantly. *shrug* I emailed my artist and the shop just to give them a heads up, which I felt kind of weird about but they should know, right? I don’t actually think I picked this up at the shop, but couldn’t hurt for them to give everything a nice once over with disinfectant, yeah? Anyway, this first picture is some mild redness, the second is the worsening redness one day later that prompted me to go to urgent care. The second is a couple days later. Looks about the same currently…really hoping to see more significant improvement soon.
    • Hi there! So I just got two tattoos last night, one on top of each other. The one on the top seems pretty normal to me, it’s red and is a little uncomfortable like any other tattoo, but the one below that one is more red, has some bruising it looks like? The skin is tighter and it stings a little bit more than the one above it. Now I don’t know if it’s because of the placement, because maybe that one was more over worked than the other one? I know it is still very new and fresh, but my other tattoos have not reacted this way but I’m wondering if maybe because it’s in my arm? And the stinging feeling feels like sun burnish, but only on the bottom one. Does anyone have any advice for me??!
