posterboy7596 Posted January 16, 2012 Share Posted January 16, 2012 I have a question about the proper way to go about something, and would like some input. My right arm is about 1/2 covered so far(the bottom 1/2). It was all done by one artist and is actually really nice stuff. I'm wanting to get the arm finished now though. The tattoos that are there already are finished work, I just want to get the rest of the arm covered. I've been going to a different artist recently and I'm curious if I would be an asshole if I had the guy I've been going to recently finish the arm off or should I go back to the guy who did the existing work? Just pick an artist who's work you want to complete your sleeve. If could be the artist that did the first half or a new artist. Just my 2 cents. Good luck! russ f Posted January 16, 2012 Share Posted January 16, 2012 I think if the new artist isn't encroaching on the old one's work then it doesn't matter, I think the etiquette thing only really comes in if you had an artist do a custom design and someone else finished it off. Gloomy Inks Posted February 3, 2014 Share Posted February 3, 2014 I had the same question for a long time too. Thom deVita stated in the Vice Tattooage doc that it didn't matter. In fact it made it a collaboration, which is something I never thought of. Just think of say a Cliff Raven outline with Joe Six Pack Kitchen Wizard color and Paul Booth Shading.
