Hey there! Introducing myself, I'm noel, have seven tats and plan on getting many more. I'm not an artist or a tattooer, but I really like the info on this forum. See ya'll around.

These are a few of my tattoos. The most recent one is the tree of life tattoo. I'm not exactly loving it. The artist and I failed to connect on my concept for this certain tattoo. I'm supposed to go back in a couple of weeks to make some adjustments. Let's hope it goes well.

Yggdrasil with people kissing on Him...hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Hope you get your lines of commo straightened out with your artist-I know exactly what you mean! You may THINK you have every detail covered, only to find when you're done that it didn't quite hit the mark. Good luck! (tell your artist that this Guy is watching!)

My tattoo turned out way more "animated" than I was wanting. The colors seem a little off to me, and the top of the tree (the branches) seemed unfinished or too bare. I'm a little nervous because I'm not exactly sure what he is capable of doing. I've only gotten two other tattoos from him. I'm not even sure what could be done differently with the branches. I was thinking about asking him to just make it a black and Grey tattoo, but I don't know if that's even possible. It sucks, because after every single tattoo I have ever gotten, I have loved them. Then I get this one and go home disappointed. Not what I was expecting for sure. Let's hope it gets worked out and I don't end up having to get it covered.

Colors can be adjusted, and you have plenty of room to add foliage or whatever suits you to the top of the Tree. I would suggest researching pre-christian art from Northern Europe-I've been able to find some killer plates of old finds, and it wouldn't surprise me if you could find earlier illustrations of Yggdrasil to work with.

    • Hi all.  Looking for some advice here.  I'm attending an upcoming 3 day tattoo convention and was thinking about getting tattooed each day.  My dilemma would be about the healing process.  Basically I'm curious if anyone has done this before and how they healed.  I know the go-to answer will be Saniderm/Tegaderm, but I have used that stuff a few times and even though I healed fine, something about covering my tattoo with a sticky bandage just makes me paranoid something will get trapped in there.  I end up not liking it because I spend too much time worrying.  But on the other hand, if I just use the soap & aquaphor method, I'm afraid that won't be any good because I'll be around a lot of people and I'll be getting another tattoo in the same area (all 3 would be on my legs).  I'm worried about the tattoo being exposed or possibly infected, or just not heal well because of everything going on.  Thanks for reading this far and I appreciate any advice that is offered.
    • I'll be there.  Hopefully all 3 days, but we'll see what happens.
