for those who didn't already know...some metal bands with tattooers in them:

twilight (tim lehi and jef whitehead)

http://youtu.be/4_HA3g4Zo5k

draugar (tim lehi)

http://youtu.be/_kdwWN0GI7s

leviathan (jef whitehead)

orchid (theo mindell)

it's interesting that i found out about all of these bands just out of doing music related searches and got into them and then to find out later on that these guys were in the bands.

On the topic of tattooers in good bands:

jondix has a doom band...........Tas is in Electric Wizard, Thomas Hooper had a pretty cool band (rainy day fuck parade).

Jef Whitehead is so damn talented but from an outsider looking in he seems to be his own worst enemy.

I've been listening to some bands out of the Columbus, Ohio area, Lo-Pan and Backwoods Payback. Pretty good metal bands, I think Lo-Pan is headed to the west coast soon...

seen ghoul a few months ago with gwar in frisco -they were pretty cool-thrashin hard.

Keep a look out for Ghoul playin Gilman/Metro in Oakland. Every now and then they put on a smaller show where killbot almost destroys the stage.

    • oof. yeah one's mileage will definitely vary
    • A tattoo I had that was infected had every bit of color fall out. Like ALLLL of it. It was a few months before he could touch it up.
    • I had a similar problem: I wore jeans (I have to work) and they chafed my then-new tattoo, causing scabbing, and then discoloration. While getting other work done with my artist, I asked him about it and he said to wait. Here we are a few years later, and the color has healed fine: there's no brownish red anymore where the scabs were. So a touch up isn't necessary at this point. Now, the color falling out is a different issue, which will most likely need a touch up, and my tattoos are tebori, but the lesson is that allowing the body to work its magic over a longish period of time isn't an unreasonable or unheard of thing.
