LST people, astronomical decision to be made

23 posts in this topic

Going to inksmith and rogers next weekend, and a thought occurred... while I'm there I'll go ahead and set up an appointment with Mike Wilson for my chest.

But I can't decide which battle to go with a snake and eagle (not comparable in size as @Iwar 's would be) or maybe a cat/snake cat/eagle or some other battle. I figure I could just ask Mike which he'd be more down for, but maybe some input from the fellow community will help steer me in the right decision.

Sidenote: This whole not being able to make a solid decision on a tattoo is becoming a nuisance; everythings just too good!

Cat/eagle is one I haven't seen as often as cat/snake or eagle/snake. I personally would go something a bit weird (like mongoose/snake :P), but I reckon any of them would be great.

My vote is cat/eagle.

Any of them will be awesome, but his panthers are really awesome. However, if you're just doing chest (and not the entire torso), I think the eagle/snake would be best. Or Eagle/snake/dragon.

It's pretty much a joke around my parts, that I'm the catman. Proven if you follow me on Instagram. I dig it too, just not wanting to commit too much of my stomach, and I can't picture how else it could fit

Dont have an Eagle from Mike, but I have a giant fuckin' eagle and havent regretted it since. They are so majestic on your chest.

Post pics when finished, fool.

eagle on the chest is where it's at. I would but, I think I am destined for something a bit different.

I love that notion. Knowing something is so correct...but really looking inward and thinking "ehhh....I think am destined for something a bit different"

Cheers.

Oh believe me I have been eyeing up eagle chest pieces for quite some time. There are some tattoos which are stupid awesome but just are not for me to have. Luckily, there are too many other awesome ideas that are out there as well! I will say this...my chest piece is saved for someone in California.

I like the notion of different as well. But for such a big area, I think a classic will sit right at home for me. That's why adding a snake will take it a little beyond different (for me) while keeping it a classic. Plus a snake will add some needed asymmetry.

Whoops looks like I've inadvertently made my decision

Snakes get a huge thumbs up from me! Classic designs are classic for a reason. Also, awesome on coming to a decision!

You could always do a panther with dive bombing smaller birds (like swallows)- Nikki Balls posted one on her instagram not to long ago.

Another take is snake/cat with swallows like this burner from Zack Spurlock:

Raptor?

Raptor would be epic! I was thinking snakes and skulls. Maybe just a lot of skulls...

I agree with @lving4today traditional is destined for a chest piece. Bold, timeless designs deserve a upfront place to be shown!

    • Thank you for this reply it related to me alot.  Your right i rushed into the tattoo beforehand anyway. I dont even like tattoos, and really wasnt in the right state of mind but someone said get one.. 2 days later I did. The night before i got it i was drawing up designs and thinking but me and my mum never had a great relationship and my mind was frazzled so i went with text as couldnt think of design/quote or something. Was even asking people for ideas. So I agree it doesn't do justice thats probably one of the reasons I hate it. Now thinking about her hobbies hairdressing and we had a dog which was a British bulldog but wouldnt want that on my arm tbh. I too am in a tattoo rut i absolutely hate it and Like you long sleeves do look like summers choice.  Regarding laser treatment, when did you get this done? what are the results? and did you have any colour? Thanks for your reply
    • @Ciel How have you care for your other tattoos? Agree with @Howie - talk to you artist. IMO, no to antibacterial ointment AND coconut oil on a fresh tattoo with a re-wrap. Your tattoo needs to heal and breathe. Tegaderm is fantastic for this type is scenario!
    • Session number seven rolled around this Saturday. @bongsau You were definitely right, "in for a whooping" to say the least. Only made it through 2 and a half hours, but still managed to tear up an insane amount of skin. It's sessions like this that definitely teach you about your body and ability to tolerate pain. Felt pretty discouraged immediately after the session, but I'm still stoked on the level of progress. Can't wait to see the patterning brighten up as the blue settles over top. 28.5 hours here.
