Hello from Boston, MA

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

New guy here from Boston, MA.

I have 3 fairly old tattoo's from the early 90's (when you couldnt get tattoo'd in Mass!).

They aren't very good.

Probably not going to get them covered.

But Im starting to work on lining up my next peice.

I have a few things that I want, and am looking for a good artist locally.

Willing to drive too, but that significantly complicates things as time is of the essence.

I will be posting in other threads of what I am looking to get, where and advice on artists.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome! I was going to point you in the direction of a great thread about good shops in/near Boston, but I see that you just posted in it. Good luck!

That's easy - two kids and a wife - time to do things by or for myself can be scarce

Ahhh. Very true then fine sir. I will put this out there though. If you know someone you want to get tattooed by, don't settle for something else. Waiting to get tattooed sucks, but there isn't much that is better than getting a tattoo from someone at the top of your list.

Welcome. I'm from Boston (south shore) too. My 2 kids are out of the house now, but I just took my brother on a road trip in Oct to Ohio to get work done, then took my wife back there over the holidays for more work (both by Gunnar). As Brock said, I went to an artist at the top of my list, figuring if I'm going to get something permanent on me I'm going to do it right regardless of time.

    • yep. 4-6 weeks before you really know what you've got.  post a link to the person who you're looking at for re-working it.
    • I'd wait until it's healed so you actually know what it's going to look like before I start looking at having it "fixed." How exactly is the other artist going to "fix" it? I've seen more tattoos that look worse after they are fixed than better.
    • Hello everyone. So I got this rose tattoo two weeks ago. Still healing and I know I want to get it “fixed”. My issue with it is that while it looks like a rose you have to look hard to see it’s a rose. I have an appt. scheduled for April to have it worked on by a different artist (he did a pocket watch on my ribs last year that came out great). In meeting with him he said it lacks symmetry (which it does) among some other things, but he feels he can work on this. Looking for any advice. Is this fixable or is it a lost cause? If it’s not fixable then it is what it is, but Tully hoping for some input. Needless to say, I’ve been so bummed since I got because it didn’t come out how I would’ve liked. Thank you.
