It is so fascinating to me how each person is wired so differently. @Dan @Hogrider My spine wasn't bad EXCEPT for the very top about 4-5" below my hairline. That was some red-hot needle territory.

yep ! me too, that's where that Oni was put,and it was bad for me.

Three times I sat for four hours on the ribs. Twice I sat for six hours (shoulder and calf). I didn't feel my shoulder but lord have mercy that last hour of my calf was brutal.  My comfort zone is definitely 4 hours with ease.

Funny, I didn't have any issues on my calf either, but ribs? Holy shit! First time I had my ribs worked on was the only time I've ever had to say stop so I could get my shit together. Second time, it was nothing. Third time I had to tap out after 3 1/2 hours. All in the same general area. I have another appointment in March and hopefully we'll finish that piece.

I had each of my calves done one week apart. My right calf twitched like a son of a gun. I really had to struggle to control the involuntary movements. Of course, that had me concerned about my left calf the next weekend. My left calf was a total non-event and a completely different experience. Oy vey!

Aww man c'mon once this arm is fixed it's chest and rib time don't tell me that shit. I'm planning on getting my nipples blacked out as well but I'm thinking of doing that a cm at a time every time I go.

My longest was 7 hours of lining from the side of my butt to almost the side of my knee. I think I saw God. I had the shakes really bad after and by the time I got home, I had a fever. I called my mom when I was done like I usually do to let her know the damage had been done, and I distinctly remember telling her I was never getting another one...that was a couple tattoos ago, of course. :3_grin:

My artist always says, "Just because it's gonna hurt is no reason not to get one." By then end of the session I'm usually thinking it's a pretty good reason.

Maybe this is naive or just hopeful, but I want to start an artist signature line of T-shirts,  designed by Tattoo Artists, I know this is not a new concept, but the niche will be that they are not shop T-shirts and not Sullen big productions from the larger companies (which are awesome). I would like to see simple clean designs, limited colors on Black shirts, made locally, of limited runs of 100 -300 shirts only, so that it actually matters that you have one of a limited supply (value added). Also limited run designs will mean that the art is constantly changing with fresh designs by the artists. There is a real opportunity for the Tattoo Scene to support local makers of things, like t-shirt makers and printers etc, instead of having things mass produced in China. Help your cousin Jim, you know what I mean. North America used to be a world producer, now we are consumer extraordinaires. This also gives a creative venue for tattooers who make awesome art which not so Tattoo-able sometimes, which can generate income for a rainy day fund when they are not tattooing (yes that happens).
Here are 5 designs which I am considering for Black T-shirts (hence the black back-drop).

What is your feedback? Why one or the other? If there is consensus, this thing can pop out in the real world and you are a part of it. How often do you get that opportunity?

Heading to Oakland, California to see Freddy Corbin at Temple tattoo to get inked for our 25th wedding anniversary.
      Appointment is noon, Tuesday.
Daniel Higgs did the original wedding tattoos at Realistic Studio in San Francisco and Freddy was in the shop watching and making comments while he was doing us. Daniel doesn't do tattoos any more. So our first choice is Freddy to keep spiritual continuity.
The wife and me are getting a "25-XXV added somewhere . I am also getting a "Dragon" mixed into it...
I'll keep you up to date.
