I'll be travelling there soon and would like to be tattooed. The closest i found on the list was in AZ, Immaculate Tattoo, which looks incredible but at this point in life it would be pretty tough to get there. Immaculate is fucking awesome, and well worth what it takes to get there. I get tattooed quite a bit by Matt Arriola, and he spends a lot of time at Inkvision in Boise, Idaho. Darcy Nutt is in Boise I think. Also the Salt Lake City convention is pretty good. It just passed, but if you are willing to wait until next year I am sure that there will be plenty of great tattooers there. Specially the owner Mo Coppoletta. IMO this is a good shop for western style, japanese style and notably it is also home to Xam, possibly the best-known tattooist in the shop. The Family Business Tattoo Shop 2. Deluxe Tattoo Chicago, specifically Chris Smith. Maybe Chris is better known as a maker of tattoo machines than as a tattooer, I'm not sure - but anyway I like his old school work and am halfway through a 'homeward bound' piece by him on my right thigh. I found Deluxe to be a very friendly, professional studio. Big open plan and a lot of good tattooists working away together - interesting place to be tattooed if nothing else. I knew of most of the shop's just from seeing their work on myspace,or in the magazines. I also do a google search just to see what comes up.Also you can look at yelp.com they have a list of shops in most major cities.You can also find alot of artists sites on tattoo convention websites.And i also talk to people who have tattoos and find out about new artists like that.
