Hi I'm Jason I'm 18 years old I'm currently going to school for my associate's and then my bachelor's. After I complete both of those I hope to get a commision in the Marine Corps as an officer. My favorite sports are soccer, baseball, college football, and of course pro football as well (Go Broncos!!!) anyways I have a love for tattoos and wish to get a couple of them someday since the Marine corps has a tattoo policy you have to follow, but other than that I'm thinking about getting a couple of tattoos and was wondering if these are good. The first tattoo I wanted to get is the greek coat of arms. The reason why I want to get this tattoo is because my mom liked greek culture and mythology. She even named me after Jason (from Jason and the Argonauts) and my middle name is Alexander (from Alexander the Great). Its also kind of weird because I was born the same day Alexander died, but anyway the next tattoo I wanted to get was getting the word "Conqueror" in greek letters. This referring to Alexander the Great who preety much conquered the world in his time. And my last one is Pharoah since he was once the Pharoah of Egypt as well. So are these some good tattoos? Honestly. I would appreciate the replies.

Welcome.

Personally, I find image tattoos way more interesting (in the long run) that symbols or text. You might find that in the end any tattoo itself really only has meaning to you - and basis that you don't need to be quite so literal with the concept.

On the other hand - not everybody feels that way and you should get what you want.

    • yep. 4-6 weeks before you really know what you've got.  post a link to the person who you're looking at for re-working it.
    • I'd wait until it's healed so you actually know what it's going to look like before I start looking at having it "fixed." How exactly is the other artist going to "fix" it? I've seen more tattoos that look worse after they are fixed than better.
    • Hello everyone. So I got this rose tattoo two weeks ago. Still healing and I know I want to get it “fixed”. My issue with it is that while it looks like a rose you have to look hard to see it’s a rose. I have an appt. scheduled for April to have it worked on by a different artist (he did a pocket watch on my ribs last year that came out great). In meeting with him he said it lacks symmetry (which it does) among some other things, but he feels he can work on this. Looking for any advice. Is this fixable or is it a lost cause? If it’s not fixable then it is what it is, but Tully hoping for some input. Needless to say, I’ve been so bummed since I got because it didn’t come out how I would’ve liked. Thank you.
