Hello from VA

Hello fellow tattoo lovers. I have enjoyed reading posts on this site so thought I would join to hopefully get some help with a coverup I need on a tattoo I got about 15 years ago. I have 9 tattoos so far. Hope to get some ideas and make some friends here!

Hello fellow Virginian. Welcome. Feel free to ask any question you have about your coverup right here in this thread. We will also be able to give you suggestions on who we might think do an excellent job for you.

Thank you! I would like suggestions on what to get as the coverup. I will post a pic when I get a chance to take one. I live in southwest VA. What part of VA are you from?

I've lived all over, but currently reside in the Shenandoah Valley. Where southwest Virginia? Are we talking Patrick/Henry County, Grundy/Bristol, or way west like Clintville/Big Stone Gap?

I live in Montgomery County about 30 mins. from VT and 45 mins. from Roanoke.

@TattedMama, awesome. I work in Roanoke on the weekends. Well, after you send some images over, myself and others here will gladly take a peek, give you some good advice, and try to persuade you to get the best tattoo possible.

Great! Thank you so much. I will get a pic up soon:)

Wow, lots of Va people recently :) I'm in the Richmond area. Still just kind of soaking everything in here on the forum.

Welcome as well. Do you get tattooed by anyone in Richmond?

Native Virginian here, too. I used to live close to Richmond and didn't get a single tattoo while I was there - so stupid of me. That city is so packed full of talent.

And welcome aboard!

If you mean me, we briefly talked about it back in Feb...I start a new piece with Amy Black in 3 weeks, and I have an appt. with Briana Sargent in San Diego early next year. If you mean the OP, I'm sure she'll be back soon ;)

Ha, yes. I remember now. My memory is slowing becoming just that.

    • yep. 4-6 weeks before you really know what you've got.  post a link to the person who you're looking at for re-working it.
    • I'd wait until it's healed so you actually know what it's going to look like before I start looking at having it "fixed." How exactly is the other artist going to "fix" it? I've seen more tattoos that look worse after they are fixed than better.
    • Hello everyone. So I got this rose tattoo two weeks ago. Still healing and I know I want to get it “fixed”. My issue with it is that while it looks like a rose you have to look hard to see it’s a rose. I have an appt. scheduled for April to have it worked on by a different artist (he did a pocket watch on my ribs last year that came out great). In meeting with him he said it lacks symmetry (which it does) among some other things, but he feels he can work on this. Looking for any advice. Is this fixable or is it a lost cause? If it’s not fixable then it is what it is, but Tully hoping for some input. Needless to say, I’ve been so bummed since I got because it didn’t come out how I would’ve liked. Thank you.
