My brother and I rode out motorcycles from the Washington DC area to Hyder, Alaska and back a couple of years ago. This is me standing under the Hyder sign. That was a Kawasaki 2000. Nice bike but I traded it in for a Road King.

I recently treated myself to a new Arai brain bucket.

Turns out a 7 Doors sticker matched the pin striping perfectly!

Nice looking lid! Is it modular? If so, Arai has done a great job of smoothing the joint! Nice CB, too. I'm still trying to find a way to further quiet the Emgo shorties on my GL1000. It eats fiberglass wrap in 20 miles. May try SS pads next.

Thanks @pidjones. it's not a modular... just a good ol' full face.

Sadly, i just enjoy riding and haven't had the time or space to do much work on my own bike. This is the first place where i've had my own garage, since i started riding in 2012.

I did just come across in San Jose called Moto Guild, where you can rent a shared space to work on bikes. Pretty intriguing, but the time aspect is still an issue.

New Bike - picked it up on Saturday....  always wanted one when they first came out - had a zzr600 - and now this one....

so here is me and my son  and willie G and the bud girls and a few of my bikes back in my hell raising days LOL many years ago,BTW I bought that KZ550 new in 81,I also had a 83 GPZ 750 and a 70 kawa twin

Marvellous! - my first real experience of a motorcycle was riding pillion on my cousin's GPZ750 turbo..... after that I really wanted a bike 🙂

Nice bikes. Whenever any of you decide to ride "the Tail of the Dragon", give me a shout. I live about 45 minutes from it, and about 15 minutes from "the Devil's Triangle" (which I hope to ride later this week when things dry out).

Monday, I took a 600+ mile round trip and picked up my next "project". A 1979 GoldWing that I plan to restore to showroom stock. It will probably take the next two winters, which is Ok because it will keep me occupied. I'll post up some photos once I can pull it outside.

There is a vintage motorcycle club that meets in Knoxville at the Time Warp Tea Room. For 2020 (before the virus thing) we have a challenge to put 20 old bikes back on the road. I found a '78 GoldWing that had been off the road for at least 9 years and finally stashed in a fence row. Drug it home, stripped it down and proceeded to rescue it. It is finally ready for serious road testing.

I named it "Johnny 5" because it is the 5th GL1000 I've owned.

Sold Johnny 5 yesterday to a good friend and started on a '76 RD400 that I picked up a couple weeks ago.

Yes, but that will change. Plan is to return her to very close to stock and ride her. Discovered last night that a PO had put .25 mm oversize pistons in without rebore or even honing. Keeps me busy. Friend I sold Johnny 5 to says that I didn't know it, but I was building it for him all along.

For those interested in vintage motorcycles (or vintage bikers), a friend is putting on "the Possum Motorcycle Gathering". A vintage (35 years or older) motorcycle show and swap meer at the Sevier County Fairgrounds in Sevierville, TN. April 9 & 10 2021!

My friend is putting on his 3rd annual Possum Gatherjng in Sevierville at their fairgrounds May 12 & 13. Expect some beautiful machines. If you are into vintage bikes or vintage bikers, they will be there, along with display of old stationary engines.

We had almost 100 in the judging, and over 100 motorcycles there at the Possum Gathering.
