New 'Like' System

Recommended Posts

Today we added a new 'Like' feature - this is not tied to the Facebook like system, instead it gives us a way to tell each other which posts we like or enjoy so that other members can navigate to the popular content more easily.

This will be the most valuable for threads that span for several pages.

You will see the 'Like' link appear at the bottom right of each post next to 'share' when you move your mouse over the post.

The forum home page now has a new section that lists the most liked threads.

Once people start using this new feature, a dropdown menu will appear at the top of each thread giving you a way to quickly jump to the most popular posts in that thread. I attached an image showing what it sort of looks like.

Try it out and let us know what you think!

It looks like this is tied to the Facebook like system in that my Facebook wall shows that I liked certain threads on LST.

there are actually 2 places to "like" something. 1 place is a facebook "like" which shows on your facebook. It has the facebook logo and facebook thumbs up symbol next to it.

there is also this the "like/share" that is in red font in the lower right hand corner when your mouse over the spot. the "like" links is only in the forum and is not integrated with facebook. the "share" link gives you the options to share the post on facebook, twitter, etc. if you would like.

hope this helps.

Holy old ass threads.. Would be awesome if we could like posts from forum runner. Haven't looked at TapaTalk yet, but it'd be sweet if we had a like button, maybe here

TapaTalk does it, one of the many reasons I switched from ForumRunner

This is going to make it much easier on the mods to find the winner for the monthly contests. I approve! Can't wait to mess around with it.

No doubt, I knew I could open the browser from FR and do it but its wayyyy easier this way!

Believe it or not... this thread has been here for two and a half years.

I get an error anytime I try to like from Tapatalk 2 or Tapatalk 4. Any help, is this a known issue?

Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk 2

Thanks for letting us know - is anybody else getting this error? And what does the error message say?

I will investigate and report back what I find.

It says "failed to connect to forum, please check with forum administrators if problem persists."

Any update, still hasn't been fixed. Thanks

They're still trying to figure out what is causing the error. Thanks for your patience. :-)

I noticed when I Like a post using Tapatalk, it shows I've Liked it (no error message) but if I check the same post from the browser or leave and come back later the Like is gone. As in, it disappears, as if I never Liked the post at all.

Anyway figured I would add that since it seems a little different from the error message issue other folks are having, but is still preventing me from using the Like feature. I'm using an iPhone 5 btw.

Thanks for confirming this is still an issue. I have been working on getting this fixed but still haven't been able to resolve it yet.

I will report back here when it is fixed. hopefully soon.

thanks for your patience in the meantime.

    • Hi guys, so I recently got a cover up and it's a little over 2 weeks in the healing process. I'm finally starting to like it, but it doesn't fully cover up my old tattoo! There are hints of the old tattoo still showing through (where the arrows in the picture point to the faint black curved line). Is there any way to fix this and cover this part up better? Can I just go back for a touch up and maybe have the tattoo artist go over it one more time with some shading and yellow ink? Thanks for the advice.
    • There's nothing to fix on that tattoo. It's still healing. Tattoos look weird when they are healing. A lot of people say to give it 6 weeks to heal and then judge, but I'd given it longer, at least three months. It shouldn't be shiny or bumpy then.  Secondly, a tattoo is not a sticker. No tattoo is perfect. Tattoos do not heal exactly the way they looked when they were first done. Skin is a living canvas and that means lines often spread or color migrates. It would be ridiculous to go back to your artist to get that "fixed." If you can't live with minor imperfections, then tattoos aren't for you.
    • Tattoos in general fade with time. Trying to do anything to it while maintaining the original design is going to make a mess of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
