cs97jb
Hi There!! I wanted to introduce myself. My name's Jig Bhakta and I'm from Somerville, MA but originally from across the pond in the U.K. I'm new to tattoos and only recently have I suddenly found an urge to get my first one. I've been doing quite as bit of research into the tattoo that I want and have some design ideas but my main stumbling block is trying to find a local artist who can accommodate my need, which is why I am hoping LST can help. Cheers, Jig.

cs97jb
Thanks guys. I'm looking for black and grey in realism/3D. I'm willing to obviously pay for top quality work. Any recommendations along with Redemption?

cs97jb
Thanks guys. These are all really helpful links. I've looked through them and there are some very good tattoos on them. However, what I am looking for is realism to this level: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/455778424763197629/, http://www.pinterest.com/pin/383439355747728538/, http://yankeebloggers.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/amazing-hand-biomechanical-art.jpg. I don't know if there are artists in the area that can do this level of detailed work - having looked through all the pictures in all of the links provided, I didn't see anything to this level (maybe I missed something?). I know that I am picky in terms of the level of detail that I'm looking for but to me, that's ok because this is something that is permanent. Do you know of any artists that can produce this level of detail? I am being unrealistic in terms of finding someone in the New England area? Cheers again for your help here! 9Years
my 2 cents anyway based on this bit of your post: "I know that I am picky in terms of the level of detail that I'm looking for but to me, that's ok because this is something that is permanent." All mediums have limitations and nothing lasts forever...even tattoos. How much of this type of work have you seen in real life? I would try to seek some out on real people before committing a ton of space to it for a first tattoo. There are some members here that have some excellent examples of very detailed work ( @peterpoose, @MoistTowelette are two that come to mind) but it also seems like this style has to really be executed with a lot of experience to hold up. Good luck!
cs97jb
Thanks for all of this. 9Years: I honestly haven't seen these types of work in real life, just a lot of instagram posts. Thanks for pointing out a couple of members. I realise that this level of detail requires experience and I think I'm probably going to have to travel out a bit for it, say NYC, but I was hoping folks on here would know of folks closer that could do this level of work. I'll follow a lot of your suggestions as well as your suggested artists but if others have others, please let me know.
