But it is the first time I get a piece that a small portion did not come out the way I would like it to be. I am no complaining, but just looking for options/opinions/ideas on how other people have handle a situation like this...To be honest you are the type of artist I would like to avoid. It is scary to know that if you do a piece and your customer just was not fully satisfied with a small portion of your work and it is definitely fixable that your take is "deal with it" Thanks all for your help and opinions. So now new words are being added, "definitely fixable." Wasn't in the mix before. If it's fixable then yeah just fix it. Or better yet just don't mess it up in the first place. Without pictures of the tattoo that we are talking about, we are just spitballing generalities. I would never ever say that I woulnt fix something if for some reason it was messed up, and fixable. My point was, again because we have no pictures to look at, that in general, my artists had less talent and different artistic visions than I had hoped. And sometimes that's just the case. I would imagine if its the case of not having a line connect, then the artist would just fix it, and there would be no need for discussion, if it was "definitely fixable". SlickSquid Posted February 5, 2015 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Care to tell me how you call the person who teaches a person to tattoo? :) We call them "mentors" If it can be fixed get it fixed, and you have faith in the artist that did it to fix it then give him another shot, If you went to an apprentice (which is what it sounds like you did) then holla at his mentor and him and get it square yo. Just wanted an opinion on what you guys would do, so i gave a downpayment of $400 to a shop for a sleeve. Owner said i have to wait 6 months for my appointment, no problem. I waited the 6 months. A month before my appointment i dropped into the shop to if my artist started a sketch yet, and the artist told me he hasn't started. 3 days before my appointment the owner of the shop calls me and tells me my artist left the country and is having problems getting back. So he pushed my appointment another 2 weeks back. Within a week the owner calls me back again, and says my artist still isn't back yet and would like to push my appointment back another month.. This is definitely a serious issue in my own opinion, and needs better attention than posting it here. Start a thread on the initiation forum about this. 400 dollars its a big down payment. I would talk it out with the owner of the shop and see if he would be willing to give you other options. But I am sure that some of the senior guys around here can give you a better advice.
