You Can't Spell - And It Matters

When I worked for a printing company, we'd proof their art, but gently ask if the spelling was correct. Marketing departments sometimes play with spelling, so we were never 100% sure if it was a mistake or not. If we didn't ask, the claim was usually going to fall on us.

I work in print (as the customer of the printed material) too, and although we ask them to check, the responsibility ultimately lies on us to get it right, as far as what is desired. That's the point of getting a proof, after all. As far as tattoos, it's your (collective your) body, you're going to own it, so you should take the responsibility for it being as you want it. The stencil is your "proof".
