Apprentice and crowdfunding?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I am a 28 year old self taught artist and single father of an amazing 8 year old boy, i have been doing a non-paid apprenticeship as a tattoo artist for three and a half years under an artist with over two decades of experience in a licensed tattoo studio. i am very excited to be almost finished my apprenticeship! However i am in serious need of help to reach my goals to buy my equipment and realize my dream, iv really struggling to save the money, if you are interested in helping out please check out my crowdfunding page http://igg.me/at/W7SVoksCAKs i am not expecting it to be successful, i set a very ambitious goal, would just be amazing if it worked out and hey....its worth a shot.

Some amateur color pencil work of mine.

Forget indiegogo, get a WorkHarder:

Nailed it. What I wanted to say, but wasn't able to word politely.

Remember the chick from last year who asked that we pay for her tattoo? SMH.

Hahaha. I may have to stop getting tattooed next year for medical reasons, and I don't earn much at the moment.

How do you guys and gals feel about funding my back piece?? You can choose the artist even!

I would fund that over this.

    • yep. 4-6 weeks before you really know what you've got.  post a link to the person who you're looking at for re-working it.
    • I'd wait until it's healed so you actually know what it's going to look like before I start looking at having it "fixed." How exactly is the other artist going to "fix" it? I've seen more tattoos that look worse after they are fixed than better.
    • Hello everyone. So I got this rose tattoo two weeks ago. Still healing and I know I want to get it “fixed”. My issue with it is that while it looks like a rose you have to look hard to see it’s a rose. I have an appt. scheduled for April to have it worked on by a different artist (he did a pocket watch on my ribs last year that came out great). In meeting with him he said it lacks symmetry (which it does) among some other things, but he feels he can work on this. Looking for any advice. Is this fixable or is it a lost cause? If it’s not fixable then it is what it is, but Tully hoping for some input. Needless to say, I’ve been so bummed since I got because it didn’t come out how I would’ve liked. Thank you.
