sbj619
Yakuza fan gets a Yakuza tattoo worth $9000 | GamersMint Back in 2010, Sega ran a contest for Yakuza 3 where the winner would receive a custom Yakuza tattoo with a value of over $9000. The contest asked fans to state in 25 words or less why they thought they deserved the tattoo. A year later, a truly dedicated fan has finally received his much deserved price.46 year-old Fari Salievski from Liverpool, Australia went through with the process and now has one of the most ridiculous (in a good way) full back tattoos in the world. The tattoo has earned him the nickname of “The Dragon” . Coincidentally, Salievski happens to be a a full-time martial arts instructor and MMA trainer. The tattoo was done by artist Josh Roelink of Tatudharma Studios in Sydney. The process demanded four-hour sessions with three week intervals for six whole months. Now that is dedication to a game. As you can see from the above picture, the tattoo looks almost identical with the one, the game’s protagonist has. Also, if you’re wondering, this is a permanent tattoo and Fari will be carrying it with him for the rest of his life. I think they get their terms mixed up here? Not done by a Yakuza tattooer, not irezumi. Are all "Yakuza" tattoo irezumi? Nice tattoo though, I guess.
kylegrey
Ha ha ,here we go again .The best answer is to check out the Japanese tattoo politics thread as although Yakuza and irezumi are interrelated they are separate identities .On another level though i understand the Yakuza are at the forefront of the recent relief efforts in their country .
