All those terms are fine by me.... As long as a tattooer is using them. If the person doesn't tattoo and uses them, I wanna smash their head down into their neck.

I'm a jerk

that's me ! * nodding head*

I hate hate hate it when friends or random strangers without any tattoos start dropping words like tat, inked etc but I don't care one bit when its a person with a tattoo or covered etc, and hey my name here has the word inked ;)

I frequently have un- or barely-tattooed coworkers discussing my "ink" or "tats" with me. Those terms, or variations thereof, make my skin crawl. I think because it implies a familiarity - a "tight bros from way back when," if you will - that they very clearly don't have. Maybe I thought to much about it.

That being said, I enjoy saying "zaps." I think I'm using it in a tongue-in-cheek manner, but I imagine that doesn't make it any less obnoxious.

I hate hate hate when non tattooed folk see a B&G tattoo and call it a "black and white" tattoo. I used to correct them, but now if I hear it I let it slide because I know other tattooed folk will be able to use that as their cue to stop talking to that person about tattoos. It's almost like a name tag that says "I know jack shit about tattoos"
