You have a lovely new tattoo.
Tattooing isn't science, it's art and you can't set a clock by how long a tattoo will take. Your artist, who I assume you trust to tattoo you, will always give you a best guess. It may take longer; it may take less time.
You do realize how much goes into tattooing, right? Your artist has to come up with a design, a piece of art, from whatever concept you have in your head and translates that into a tattoo on your skin. There's design, drawing, and setup among other things that happen way before the needles hit your skin. If you feel like you are being ripped off over what you think is 30 minutes, you need to think long and hard if tattooing is for you. Enjoy the ride! Let go a little and you will have a better experience.
I have never seen a menu of prices and that concept will not serve you well on your tattoo journey. Where do you live where you haggle over everything?
And I really hope that you tipped your artist.
I had my first "wet" heal tattoo done last Friday, a week today and I took the "second" tegaderm off, COULD NOT WAIT! all the itching I had was from the derm! No itching since i took it off, minor minor peeling, the pic is from tonight, one week today
I think a lot of things can have an affect on felt pain... placement, your state of mind, general health, etc. Do what they recommend, rest, good meal before, hydrated, take a snack along and you'll be fine. Just stay calm and don't make it worse than it is. Maybe let everyone know where you're getting it for more specific advice.
Wondering if anyone else went to a halloween flash event this year? I'd love to see people's experiences and what they got done!
Below are my vampire teeth, first arm tattoo on the inside of the bicep. Done by Shannon at Man's Ruin Tattoo in St Kilda, VIC Australia.
ok, i still have a few copies from the last run of my first 2 sketchbooks, 'pirated, passe, and politically incorrect' vol 1 and 2. if i remember correct they are 45 or 50 pages of clean line drawings. mostly neo-traditional hipster shit and original style traditional stuff.
the new book is at the printer right now. 'street and state vacation' its just what it sounds like, old school prison and lowrider/teen angel stuff sorta like the style i came up on way back in the day but drawn a little bit better... same deal, all images are clean line drawings, not loose sketches. this book should be somewhere around 80-90 pages and is crammed full of cool stuff. first 2 books are $20 a piece plus the ride, new big ass book is $30 plus the ride. if you like shoot me an email and ill be happy to send you a few pages as a sample. email@example.com or shoot me a text at (714)588-7394
In the past year I've started drawing my own tattoo flash. I joined in hopes of getting some constructive criticism. I'm currently using pigment liners and Prismacolor markers, although I'm wanting to get into watercolors. I've attached some of my work in this thread.
