sesa
Hi guys, just want to ask if it's normal for a colored tattoo to become lighter while healing? My new tattoo is dark red in color and it has begun to peel this past few days which I know is normal. But the fresh skin underneath is much lighter than the surface peeling off--almost pink to be honest. Will it return to the original dark red once it is fully healed? FYI, it is one week old and I've been taking good care of it by not picking and keeping it moisturized with unscented lotion. Thanks! Tornado7
Stop it, you worry way too much about this tattoo! It will never look exactly like it did when it was an open wound. Your skin is going to heal over it, so you'll see the ink through a layer of you. Right now you're looking through dead skin. Yes, they absolutely fade a bit over time, wear, exposure, etc. Dan 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/7482-new-tattoo-losing-color-while-peeling/#findComment-132569 Share on other sites
