New tattoo crooked? Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm very panicky so please help! This tattoo is 3 weeks old and almost fully healed but the lines are patchy and crooked and it is so bothering me, not so much the imperfection of it but that it just looks     novice, its on the inside of my wrist. Would a touch up fix it? Can i still trust the original artist? Thank you xx

Hey there. Is this your first tattoo? Did the artist draw it on or was it s stencil? Did you provide a reference? A little context would be helpful.

Do.not.panic. Tattoos by nature are applied by humans thus subject to imperfection which is why you can look at your tattoos under a microscope. Things can almost always be fixed but you need to breathe and relax...

The inside of your wrist is a tough spot. The skin is really thin there. Without knowing what it was supposed to look like, it's hard to judge. I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't go back to an artist that screwed something up the first time. I just wouldn't have the confidence.

It's not a bad tattoo, but there is nothing about it that would send me back to the artist that did it.

Thanks guys, it was a stencil and kind of supposed to like this. But its the different line strokes that is annoying, it looked more solid when it was fresh but completely healed, the ink is patchy as you see. And yes it is my first tattoo.

will a touch up fix it? But I dont want to make it thicker, just fill in the ink gaps, make it smoother.

I agree you should find another artist and have this redone...maybe in conjunction with another tattoo so it doesn't feel like you're paying for the same tattoo twice so much. Just and Idea. But for sure have someone else rework this....

    • my wife and myself went to high school together,we dated for a little while back then(1976/77),we were the same age and same grade, we graduated and didn't see each other for 28 years,we  both ended up single(we both went through a marriage/divorce) and a mutual friend that knew I was always hot for her mentioned he saw her at a party, anyway, fast forward to 2005,we got together and got married. the reason for this post though is this, tomorrow night(10/20) we are going to our 41st HS reunion.(we didn't have a 40th)   we graduated in 77 should be a kick. us then and now
    • Yeah, try and keep it covered - at 3 days old you don't want to get it dragging through someone else's dance floor sweat.
    • so I had to jump in here, jail house tattoos rarely have color in them and they are rarely "american traditional", whether you like it or not,a well applied "american traditional" tattoo will outlast pretty much ANY other style around. and second, LOL that reference of tribal you posted was not a quality tattoo at all IMO,it's a shitty mess IMO,there is no good color saturation, not a good design, and the middle band is scratcher shit  for sure, and yes,it's outdated trendy crap IMO. it doesn't make me "low class" or a snob to critique a tattoo,no matter what style it is,it's just my opinion.
