Intro/ request for advice

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site, and new to tattooing in general (I have 3 now).  I recently got a new tattoo from the same shop I got my other two at. I really like the artist and the shop, I am a little worried about my newest tattoo. There is some ink creepage/blowout.

heres a pic of it right after I got it and then one from today (about a month later).  My main concerns are: the line blowout on the dot of the i, the letter k, and the inside of the letter o.  There’s also a small line extending from one of the leaves of the olive branch that looks like a bit of creepage.

is this a normal amount of blowout, or should I be worried about the artist’s work?  Is there anything I can do about it, like thicken the lines, or is it best to just let it go?

I appreciate any and all input and advice, so thanks!

Hey, overall nice tattoo. There could be a few little issues but in my humble opinion, no one will notice except you. Talk to the artist to get their input. Sadly, blowout happens for a variety of reasons including skin type. I think it looks okay but tattoos are not perfect. 🙂

Tattoos are not perfect. Even the most beautiful tattoo you've ever seen has flaws. Funny thing is probably you are the only one who notices. Nobody will look at your tattoo that closely nor will look at your tattoo five minutes straight.

Seriously, it looks great 🙂

    • sounds good ! don't forget to pre-hydrate tonight(water) ,and also before the tattoo be sure and eat a full healthy meal. The sweets and bananas are  perfect ! bring a few bottles of water to drink during the tattoo.remember to relax and you will do fine.
    • I'm getting my first tattoo in 12 hours! I've even traveled for it and I'm super excited. The artist said it'd take 7 hours and I really hope that it isn't 7 hours of straight tattooing.. I've packed sweets, two bananas, a book and a switch so I hope that'll be plenty of sugars and entertainment. Now to hope that I can sleep now that the time to get the tattoo is almost here! I'll be getting a sword and a bird in the black illustrative style, but I haven't seen the design yet. I can't wait!
    • Hey everyone. First post! I recently got my 10th tattoo. It’s right below my knee on the back of my calf. Today, 2-19-19 is day 10. As you can see the tail is healing really rough. It stared getting scabbed up on day 3. I’m doing what I’ve always done- wash 2-3 x a day. Then lotion with aveeno after. I’m worried it may be infected. It’s itchig/ kind of hurts which is probably normal but that redness is worrisome. What do you guys think? Any advice is appreciated. The last pic is what it looked like on Thursday (day 4)
