  1. Or you could talk Bob or Richard into doing it, it's a mix of each one of their panthers... It was funny to watch them actually, they were kinda grabbing the red sharpie from one another like siblings... But it ended up cool, I saw Richard half the two correction lines, and meet in the middle and make something a bit different so it wasn't one or the others panther... Blackheart is prolly a better option though, both Bob and Ricardo are working on a new set of flash together with Aaron Coleman... So it's crunch time. Okay, non sequitor. I need to be packing boxes or something.

  2. Finally, having a neck tattoo got someone a job instead of costing them one.

  3. Alot of people forget that there are many different types of roses all having unique styles and characteristics to them along with unique color patterns, stems, and blossoms. They all generally look the same and some people tattoo them not knowing it's actually a rose they're tattooing. Some roses don't look anything close to what is generally accepted as a rose or "hybrid tea" as its technically called. Carnations are pretty sweet though. I think any flower would look good as a tattoo if it's done right and standard roses get pretty damn redundant after awhile.

  5. matt howse, at spider murphy's in san rafael, did this eagle and snake for me. i also really like this eagle and all seeing eye done by grez, which is not on me. valerie vargas, stizzo, chad koeplinger, theo mindell, matt howse, owen jensen, and norman keith collins do and did some of my faves!

  6. more or less how i see it is that if you can draw it, you can tattoo it. i realize that's not 100% applicable, but it makes sense in my mind. as long as you have a good artist, there's no reason you won't be able to make that work. so get what you love. i think there's no reason to feel stuck because you're worried it won't work. i have no doubt there's someone out there who can make it happen. also, some shameless non-rose personal shares. my most recent and unfinished floral piece. jatropha and clerodendrums:

    Your Latest Tattoo Story

Got my smallest yet today - This comes from a necklace my Mom has - it's her lucky charm. Dad designed it and had it made for her by a friend back in 1973. Seemed like the right image to symbolize Mom :).

  10. The guy who did this tattoo owns a shop. People pay money to him to do tattoos on them. That makes him a professional tattoo artist. If he's more "in the know" in the tattoo world than I am because I don't tattoo... so be it. In the immortal words of one of my snarkier friends... "your team!" :D

I really don't ever want to see another show. I try to be open about the added business, but even my walk in's lately think that shit is passe and gay. It's encouraging people who don;t even want tattoos to get tattooed and they end up being the kind of people that take three hours of hand holding just for a 60 dollar name. I'd rather bang out fast names on gangsters all day before having to take three hours to talk someone through a fifteen minute tattoo. Not to mention the freaking amount of people walking in trying to be tattooers.
