  5. Been pretty busy recently. Driving cross country to California with my friend since he is moving there. Gunna hit Vegas for sure. Taking the jeep out for a few days in the pine barrens for camping and off-roading. Possibly picking up a 1969 CJ5 and breaking out the new millermatic to weld up some fun stuff.

  12. Getting back from our road trip down to Cali today. Stopped by Off the Map northwest on the way up through Oregon just to sight-see. Super nice shop/people. If the stars align I'll be headed back down in august to get a piece from Henrik Grysbjerg who will be guesting for a few days. Crossing my fingers for a busy tattoo year!

  17. Me and @Pugilist got matching tattoos again. This is from Doc Forbes flash and was done by Chris Hold at Sacred Heart Tattoo in Vancouver, BC. It was a super fun one and Chris was a great dude to get tattooed by. Couldn't be happier with the tattoo and the whole experience.

  18. I am a stout appreciator of the holiday season. My house smells awesome, the shop has christmas lights up, and we're getting a little tree! I have also just put an end to a really unhealthy relationship that I've been engaging for like 6 years, and while part of me is sad, the bigger part is like FUCK YEAH, I'M FREEEEE

  19. Sorry for the huge pictures, but yesterday we spent the day in NYC and saw the Rockefeller Center tree and saw an amazing Broadway show. I'm not a big Christmas guy but I'll admit there's nothing like NYC during the holidays.

  21. I'd mirror what a few others have said and get yourself to Red, Hot and Blue. Paul Slifer is a great artist and also a really sound guy as well, usually does most of his stuff freehand but always with great results. Haven't been tattooed by Alec by really like some of the work he's been doing recently. The Edinburgh Convention is also coming up in March which would be worth checking out if your based in Edinburgh.

    New and Nervous

Hi, welcome to LST! Sounds like an awesome job you have :) So by the sounds of it, if you are allergic to surgical steel, it is unlikely that you can be tattooed at all, at least not by any methods that use an electric tattoo machine or other tattoo methods that use surgical steel needles. I would talk to your doctor and see if that would be an issue for you. I believe that some hand-tapped tattoos use bamboo instruments, but these kinds of tattooing usually follow a certain form that you may not be looking for. Anyhow, I wish you luck and thanks for coming here with your questions. I hope you enjoy the numerous resources the website has to offer!

  24. A club I rode with was asked by the local 1%er club to take off our vests at a biker event because our logo looked too much like a patch. They were really nice about it, but wouldn't have been so nice if we had refused. I think they would have just started wailing on an SOA wannabe. If you're going to be around real bikers, you had better know the rules.

That's awesome! I feel like my next appointment with Grez is so far away (July). When I'm up at the Devita show in a few weeks, I'm going to try and get a few appointment on the books for early 2015 to start my left arm finally.

    Greetings

These were taken right after it was finished, so the black is much darker than it is now. It's faded to a nce contrast from the gray wash and face.... - - - Updated - - - I'm tossing around a few ideas for my next couple of pieces. Something traditional American on my left forearm and a Japanese tiger to finish up the upper half of my arm with the dragon on it.

    Curious...

    A. you can never get all of the glitter off. Ever. We have a saying at my bar: "Glitter is the herpes of the bar world". Then we usually amend it with 'well, after herpes." B. Life should always be constant party mode. - - - Updated - - - I like the return of the short hair. And I miss you. Also, 'round these parts, Ladyface is code for Inkmaster's finest. 38. Good for you for taking charge of your health. I have also gotten myself into better shape over the last few years and have found that this makes getting tattoos all the more fun. I have a tattoo I really like on my shoulder and I enjoy wearing clothing that shows it off (in the summer, it's below zero temperatures today). Three years ago I would never have worn sleeveless shirts. I feel like there is some kind of mutual incentive with all of this- I want to be fit so I can enjoy my tattoos and I like to get tattoos as an inspiration to remain fit. Get something you like and that you'd like others to see. You will know what it means to you and no one else will probably even care. I saw a wonderful quote recently that said something like "you will worry less about what other people think about you once you realize how infrequently they do so."

  39. anything that makes you feel powerful and happy to wear the tattoo. a tattoo can mean whatever you want it to mean and because it is art it doesn't have to be so literal. For example you can get a rose and a skull to remind yourself how much of a bad ass mother fucker you are for overcoming obstacles to meet your goals. Or a warrior battling a dragon could mean the same. @Graeme had a well worded post about tattoo meanings but i forget what thread it is posted in.

Friday the 13th tattooing at Kings Avenue!!! Sorta... Short 4 hour session today with Mike Rubendall at Kings Ave in Long Island. It's been freezing cold in NYC and I braved the train ride out to Long Island to continue work on my back piece. Added more color to the dragon. Here's the report. Enjoy! Alpha Omega original hanging in Rubendall's room. Details and colors are AMAZING!!! Straddling the chair and about to throwdown: And the results from today's work: Really digging the vivid colors: Slowly coming together: And of course I couldn't go home without grabbing these. I have a copy of the Fingerwave Book which these prints were made for. Saw the original hanging in the shop. LOVE the waves and happy that I own some Rubendall waves on my backside, hahaha

  47. Most people are fairly conservative. They go with the flow. I've always said that a person who would get a tattoo will do almost anything. My wife comes from a real stick-up-the-ass type of family. I'd say that none of them have ever been arrested, shot, divorced, had a drug addiction, been in a fist fight, etc. Tattooed people are far more interesting than the unadorned. I've long since given up on what other people think about my tattoos or anything else, but it took a while. Rob
