  2. Got this from Theo Mindell while he was visiting Austin for a few days. The guy might be the straight up nicest dude I've met in a long time. And Paco Cendon at electric13 was super nice too and has an awesome shop. I very much underestimated the pain on the back of the thigh, just above the ditch of my knee. It's 3 days later and I'm still limping around.

  3. Had the final session of outlining on my back today. Another 3 hours taking the total to 15 hours just on the outline. I definitely feel like it has taken a while but I am very happy to be moving on to some shading next month. The backs of my legs are less happy that I am currently sitting down to write this. I will post some pictures of the final outline in a few days once it has settled a bit. In the mean time I can say that I am very happy with it.

  6. I had the pleasure of hosting @keepcalm and it was really nice. I hope more people of this forum will tune in to couchsurfing.org and start travelling and meeting people this way. So far it has been nothing but positive for me, allowed me to see great things, have good experiences, make some (now very dear) friends and develop a new attitude towards life and other people. </preaching> Seriously, you wont regret joining and getting active :)

  7. Just finished five hours on my back. We found an area on my trap to the left of my spine that was so painful it immediately put tears down my face and I started shaking uncontrollably. So bizarre, it was only about 2 inches by 2 inches but inside the "line" was like night and day. The right side wasn't a problem and it actually has a numb area that doesn't hurt. I think something is mixed up in my wiring in my neck right there. I was heaving and moaning and it was all uncontrollable. He asked if I was okay, but I told/begged him to keep going because if we stopped I could never get started again. That was by far the worst 20 minutes of pain I have ever felt. It took another 10 minutes to stop shaking. When he went just outside that area, everything went back to just regular sucking. Unbelievable.

  11. Haha, I know! Thanks. It's weird how hitting a certain spot on your back/shoulder can cause a nerve to twitch in your leg or hand. Odd. Only 3 hours to finish what we started today... but typically now I'm looking at it and thinking.... more, we need more... lol

@DeathB4Decaf - Ive got myself set up on a 6 week schedule from the 12 on, all Saturdays(shift work/on calls) hopefully get some good long days in, we're both hoping to have it finished by Montreal convention or be able to finish it at the convention. (I've never been to a convention and thought it would be a good time to go) hopefully we do cross paths, like I said, your drawing looks awesome would love to see it in person. @Graeme - always like good news about quick healing. Im pretty fast healing when it comes to black, its any and all colour that seems to take forever.

    NY LSTers!

@JoshRoss Ah, busy weekend for me bro, otherwise would love to meet up and see your Horimitsu piece! Have a good time in NYC! @Pugilist @Fala I LOVE Soba-ya! It's good stuff. There's also Mighty Quinn's if you want some BBQ. Mermaid Inn for seafood. Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken. Just TONS of places on 2nd Ave and side streets with about almost anything you would want to eat and drink! There's also good yakitori places on St. Marks but those places are very tight quarters and get crowded quickly. My most favorite place would be Village Yokocho on 9th Street on the 2nd Floor. A mix of Japanese yaki and Korean foods and bonus...there's a hidden-speak easy behind a second door called Angel's Share where the cocktails are pretty amazing!

    NY LSTers!

Hahaha @Pugilist! I usually head home and eat/drink after being at Adorned, and am totally out of the restaurant loop right now, but... Soba-ya is close, it's one of my husband's favorites and we always go there if we are nearby. @JoshRoss - I have to head upstate this weekend, otherwise would love to grab a drink with a fellow LSTer.

  27. My new piece from Matt Houston done on a trip to Amsterdam at Salon Serpent. Real nice guy and had another great experience in this shop. I tried to get in with Matt before in Vancouver but time was against me so super happy to nab an appt this time. Flames go up back of elbow and still healing ( it sucks!) 33. Full back was undoubtedly the hardest for me. I am able to sit for 5 hours, but was really surprised the level of pain - at points it was very intense. It probably doesn't help that I don't like laying on my stomach. At the end of one particularly painful session, I had involuntary leg spasms in one leg. I was anxious about having my ribs done, but it was not challenging at all. Everyone is so different, you might have an idea what it will be like, but you won't really know until it starts.

  34. So I am one of those weirdos who did their back first, and Stephanie always said to me that the great thing about starting there is that most other things will seem like child's play in comparison. Starting in my arms has been a treat!!

    Kitsune

I really want a gu-mi-ho somewhere on my body. It's the Korean version of the kitsune, the folklore is just a bit different. I believe a gu-mi-ho is a fox that lives a 1000 years then gains the ability to transform into a woman. She then seduces men to eat their livers/hearts. Being the man-hating feminist that I am, that's pretty rad. Joking of course..kinda :). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  46. i dont think that either method implies anything related to the tattooers abilities to put on a nice tattoo. they are basically "tools" and there are times where you need the right tool for the right job.
