  1. Unfortunately after I finished my back the itch didn't stay scratched for too long. Started this piece on Thursday. I have been shitting myself about starting the front and I wasn't disappointed, there were some seriously ouch spots. Have to keep telling myself the end result is worth it. :)

  3. I got this done today by Dan Climan, real stoked on it! I'm pretty sure it's based off a Owen Jensen design but I haven't found the original yet. I'd love to see it if anyone knows where to find it.

  4. Booked in a month from now to get some filler glyphs around my armpit from Jondix. Looking forward a lot! Also it's going to be cool to get tattooed at Seven Doors, only visited before. Some days before I get my left elbow tattooed by Rudy Fritsch at the Scottish Convention. Iain Mullen did my right elbow back in 2012, second time I met him. Last year at the Scottish Convention Iain and Rudy finished my back. So having the other elbow by Rudy now feels like full circle in a way. Beautiful

  6. My 2nd session on my newly started front torso piece is in 3 weeks and I have to decide if we tattoo the nipple or not. At this stage the design can go either way and my thoughts are I am going to do it. Being a Japanese themed piece mine will end up being just another background cloud. Not really a serious thread but I am curious in what everyone else would do/has done with the nipples. Please post pics. :)

  8. I think this is the right place to post this thought. Someone I know got into a tattoo apprenticeship at a local shop. Very nice exteriors and they definitely benefit from the street exposure, some of the tattooers are alright but not hugely exciting that I would prefer their work over others. The apprentice in question has only one palm sized tattoo in a hidden spot, and 100% sure they decided to tattoo because 'I can draw and I want money so I guess I'll just do this'. No experience drawing flash or knowledge of tattoo history et cetera. To get to the point this makes me lose all respect for that tattoo shop. Pumping out lots of apprentices who clearly didn't start with 100% love and dedication to the craft, well, why would I want to trust my own skin to that kind of organisation? Bad karma all around. That's my pet peeve.

  11. If you follow me at all on Instagram or Facebook...you've probably seen this. I'm pretty much obsessed with my latest tattoo from Jim Sylvia. As a Bowie fanatic, and a cat lover.... all arrows pointed toward me needing this tattoo that I got last night. It's a great feeling you get when you pick the right person for the job. I had never met Jim before, but have been admiring his work for the past couple years. Finally figured out what I needed from him. Great guy. Solid, talented, skilled, accomodating. <3

Hey everyone, it's been a while. It's been 2+ years since I've gotten tattooed, but I'm happy to report that I have an appointment with David Parker at Black Heart Tattoo in San Francisco at the end of the month. The current plan is a (white) tiger head with some fire around it. I love everything he does and am super excited.

  15. Tat-wrap would be useless with out some Tat-tape ($9.99) to secure it in place. And after a few days you'll need to apply some Tat-lube ($14.99) to ease the itching. And after its healed you'll want an app on your smart phone to show it off to all your friends so sign up for Tatagram ($1.99 per month membership fee).
