    Mother/Mum/Mom Tattoos

yep ! I have an old one from 95 when my mom passed away,it's an old school tattoo. she was sick with cancer,so I got the main tattoo so she could see it,then I added the RIP & date after she passed, but I was very happy and she liked it when I got the heart and banner.

  2. That swan one is damn impressive. Edited to add: Completely agreed. For a long time, I wasn't the hugest fan of chest tattoos on women, so I kinda see it like this: getting your chest tattooed is a hard-as-fuck, baller move (for men or women), and I like the idea of using that to enhance or play off my more feminine side. Women tend to have more dimension to their torso, so there's a real opportunity to let the form educate the design. Roxx does this very well, I think. Seeing her work has really turned my opinion on the matter around. (The last link is a backpiece, but I think it could've worked wonderfully as a chestpiece.) But if any lady wants to get a gnarly battle royale on your chest/torso, then go for it; I will support the fuck out of that.

    Lady Heads

About to make appointments for a couple more lady heads, which would bring my total to 11. Can't ever have too many.

I've only been to NYC once and that was 12 years ago...but I remember stompin' from Brooklyn to Williamsburgh to find Flyrite Tattoo on the advice of a tattooed NY friend. It was a super cool joint just to walkin, look around and get a wall-flash-overload !

  8. Check out Mike Moses in Columbus, OH. He's very illustrative, but not exactly like the above style. There are plenty of sketchy tattooers in the US however, they usually do full sleeves for a pack of smokes and dimebag.

  10. Just got this from David Parker at Black Heart Tattoo in San Francisco. Do I really need to say how I feel about this tattoo?

  11. That's looking good, @Kurgana! I know this -derm stuff is not for everyone, and is not part of the traditional tattoo experience, of which the healing process is a big part, but the annoying stuff to deal with in the first few days of a new tattoo is eliminated (no messy sheets, a lot more comfort). I'm sold on it since it works for me, and doesn't irritate my skin or otherwise pose a problem. Having gone without as many times as I've used it, I feel like I can confidently say I'm going to use it from here on out. - - - Updated - - - That's looking good, @Kurgana! 13. First session Wednesday with Tim Lehi at Temple in Oakland. He lined the main image and some background. Pumped to get started, pumped for the long road ahead, pumped to finally be able to contribute to this thread after ogling it for years...

  14. Sup! This is my first thread so forgive me if i am doing something wrong. I recently started my chest piece and at this point I've only had the outline done. I super happy with the start of it but i'm looking for some ideas around extending it out to the full width of my chest and on to the front of my shoulder a little bit. I did start my chest piece earlier than I expected as I am starting a sleeve soon in April. I knew i wanted the chest to overlap the top of the sleeve rather than the other way around. Any advice or ideas on this would be awesome. cheers James

  15. Had a cool session with Eddy Deutsche and received this Goldfish, powered by a Kappa pilot. My input was: weird, eastern influence, and I threw out a bunch of classic imagery.

  16. So since pretty much forever, I'd been bugging my mom to get a tattoo. She can be really socially conservative and definitely came from the "tattoos are trash" generation. After enough bugging, it became pretty clear that she's never going to be tattooed, so I started bugging her to come with me to get a mom tattoo so she can be a part of the process and get a feel for how rad the shop environment is. That kept getting pushed back farther and farther until I realized again that it wasn't going to happen. So basically, I gave her the "you're going to be part of tattooing whether you like it or not" talk, and told her that if she wasn't going to participate as a third party, she can participate as a first party and tattoo me instead. So she did. isn't it terrible? I love it so much. It's supposed to be a bear, looks kind of like a weasel, 100% precious and motherly. Moms rule!
