  1. Long time no see ? Got a little one yesterday after a few months' tattoo break (well not counting a smallish walk-in-day thingy from December) I'm totally hyped about! Going back to the insanely talented and super nice Mr. Romeo next month for some more work on that arm, AND getting something else done by one of the other guys at the studio on the other one at the same time. Should be quite interesting Edit: photo pinched from my tattooer's instagram

    Shading between tats

IMO the best traditional filler is more tattoos. Biker dust is overdone, and wind/waves aren't in the traditional vocabulary like Japanese style. Matches, snakes, bugs, lady legs, daggers - make them small and cram them in there.

  3. They didn't do a simple outline right the first time, but you're going to give them another chance? Sorry, I just don't understand why people do this. Past actions are the best predictors of future actions.

  5. yep. it's not worth the free touch-up. just pay a better artist to fix it. they also might be able to give some suggestions on how to make it look better.

  6. I have one that the green was lined in a darker green and it has held up. I have had older black-lined tattoos spread out over time. Ones that were close together almost touched after 20 years. I agree that the sun is a tattoo's worst enemy. I know one artist, she has some nice water color work on her, no outline but she is almost an albino compared to me and never sets foot in the sun. Her work still looks perfect years later.

    Forearm tattoo ideas?

I like this one. I'm a sucker for an old Sailor Jerry design. DO IT!

  8. I think how you take care of it is a factor too. If you are a sun worshiper, they will likely fade much quicker than if you always keep them covered up when it's sunny.

A bunch of unrelated tattoos is my favorite look.

What, like shading between all the tattoos? That would look strange to me. Just fill the smaller spaces with smaller tattoos and little stars and stuff. It's been done before. You're not the first to have several unrelated tattoos or even a whole sleeve of them. :-)

  12. My husband has no tattoos, just because he doesn't really know what to get or cares enough to put the effort into finding an artist and booking an appointment. He is alright with mine, he probably wishes I wasn't so obsessed with getting more, but I wish he wasn't so obsessed with MMOs and we can't always get what we want :P My husband appreciates the fact that I research artists and pay for good work, I don't think he'd like my tattoos that much if they weren't good. I'm hoping one day he does decide to pull the trigger and get a tattoo, he has a couple of good "if I did get one, it might be this" ideas.

    Upcoming Tattoos

Just booked 3 spots with Jay Joree in June and July. Two of them will be for a large leg piece and the other is for a planchette on the inside of my arm. Can't wait!

    Your First Tattoo

My first was 14 years ago when I was 19. It was one of those where I walked into the shop and picked an existing design. It's a snake around a half moon! How ridiculous. It's not very well done (at this stage some people think it's a monkey..) but I swear I can't get rid of it. As the first I do feel really attached to it! I've covered up another tattoo but I think I'll never cover up this one. It's on my belly so it's not visible all the time which helps. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Your First Tattoo

My first tattoo was a trail of seven butterflies going from the front of my right hip up and around my side. I was 19 and at the time the first two sat in my undies line and the last one closer toward my back. 4 kids and 12 years on, they sit very differently ? poor things have been through a fair bit! In the past I wanted to either rework them or add to them, but now I'm too sentimental and like them all stretched and sad looking ?
