there are too many variables with tattoos and healing,we all heal different,I always peel after using Saniderm, sometimes I scab, sometimes I don't.

  2. Nice. Yeah, I'll be getting tattooed at 12:30 on Saturday the 8th with Grez. The shop guy, Dylan, is really awesome, so despite not being primarily a walk in shop, they try to get people in when and where they can. Either way, Kings Ave or not, you have a million options. Good luck and enjoy your trip. Drop me a message here on Insta if you happen to be around the Bowery on the 8th! There are a million great places to eat around there.

  3. Yeah, I've definitely see people at Kings Ave do walk ins on almost every trip up there. I'll be there on July 8, if you're in the area and looking for an LST meetup! Smith Street, NYHC, and Rose were all super friendly and accommodating when I've stopped in to check em out.

  4. @ThatGuy gotta give a shout out to http://behind-the-circle.com/ in Brooklyn. Easy to get to, walk ins. http://www.nyhctattoo.com/ if you want to support the scene. And please, while you're here, do NOT stand in the middle of the side walk while I'm trying to get home from work haha.

  5. Welcome to the forum! What are you planning for your first tattoo? Yes, you'll need to have a post count of 10 before you can start new threads in any of the subforums other than here. Use this one to ask questions but you can also respond in other areas - just don't flit around posting things like "Great!", "Cool!" to drive up your count.

It's looking fine. Don't worry about peeling or scabbing, but stop re-wrapping it. Let it breathe.

Just keep doing what you are doing...keeping it clean and very lightly moisturized if needed!

  12. Love Hate takes walk-ins and I think Daredevil does too. Heck, I'd still try Adorned, Saved and Kings Ave if I was there!

  13. Rose Tattoo could be an option: https://www.instagram.com/rosetattooparlour Easy to get to from Manhattan and does walk-ins. You can't go wrong with Smith Street though if someone has time for you.

Thanks for replying!! I like both of these ideas, but I've decided to put my sleeve on hold for a while, until I'm certain I know what I want :) instead I'm working on an underboob tattoo :D

    Tattoo Blowout

it's hard to tell now, wait til it's fully healed in 3 or 4 or 6 months, besides, there is nothing you can do now anyways ! I can't tell if it's blowout or not, for now, relax, enjoy it,take care of it,plan your next one,and wait and see what it looks like in 6 months. honestly it looks ok to me.

    1st Tattoo Dilemma

Too early to say, probably. You're just going to have to let it heal. Hopefully the "white goo" wasn't stripper(?). Coconut oil? Not me.

It looks good. At six days, mine are unwrapped, getting plain lotion, and starting to peel. Lines peel differently than fields of color for me. You may not notice it if you are keeping the area clean, it may just peel off in the shower.

  23. Hi guys, nice to be here :) I got stuck with my first calf tattoo and was hoping someone could help me with an idea how to continue. My story is, I wanted a Dove with sun, some trees and natural theme to put on whole calf. Without any filling or colors, just lines :) When we were thinking with an artist, we spent several hours and I've decided it will be better to quit that day to not make a mistake :) Now I'm a bit frustrated what to do - i know it was a mistake to go for it without any exact ideas. What do you think, how to complete this around the whole calf? I was thinking about some fileds / paper plane / patterns to fill an empty places and stay in "natural" topic All ideas would be much appreciated! :) Martin

    DEATH

I got this flaming owl tattoo from Jon Gray in 2013. It was a piece of his flash that I liked and he was doing a guest spot in town. After I booked in a time to get this owl, I found out someone very close and influential in my life was dying and then he passed away. I was the pall bearer at his funeral a few days before receiving this tattoo. It was simply unique owl tattoo flash that I liked. I then discovered the owl can be a symbolic messenger of death...the whole thing then took on a new meaning in light of what was going on in my life. It is by no means a memorial tattoo, just an eerie coincidence and a reminder that everything (life) is temporary. I guess a lot of my tattoos are about death - in the sense that they are markings symbolizing and a creating a personal rebirth of sorts.

  26. Well, that was brutal. Takashi went back over lines to bolden them, and damn that hurt. But the outlines are all done! June for start of tebori!

  27. Session # who knows now, but coming to the end. 36 hours to get here. One more sit to finish a tiny bit of colouring we haven't done and to hit a bunch of the background to smooth things out. Scott wanted to darken the big wave over my ribs to something a little closer to the lower one. It's gonna be weird not having this to work on anymore, but at the same time I'm so effing relieved. Gonna be healed for summer and for the crazy shop party--boo yeah!
