Tebori supposedly hurts less, also if you jump on the plane the morning/day after its still a dull throb and didn't really bother me and I flew from Cali to FL, you will do great.

  3. He is doing machine shading because I'm coming from so far away, we're trying to get it done as efficiently as possible for all parties involved. It hurts like any tattoo does, the back definitely has some sensitive stuff going on. I only have my right leg done otherwise and the jump in pain scale was pretty tremendous for me but I made the 8 hour appointment and I got through it. You'll survive your appointment if out of stubborn-ness alone like I have. @Gingerninja thanks! I toughed it out thanks in part to your app you sent me! Mike Saurez and Molly complimented me for being TUFF and it made it a little easier and made me feel a little better. The numbing cream was the silent hero for my ribs though. I'm also booked in with Monji while he is at Inksmith and Rogers in October!

The inevitable continuation of my self-flagellation tattoo coverage towards an accidental bodysuit is continuing. I have the appointment set for less than two months from now for Horifuji at State of Grace to put a tennyo on my back/arse/rear of my upper thighs. Bringing it up again as I am seeing more posts from people with their back work and it is suddenly becoming real to me that it is happening awfully soon. I am only somewhat terrified, at this point. Sitting in a plane with a freshly tattooed arse is not something I ever imagined I would have to be concerned with, frankly. Tebori needles near my tailbone. What could possibly go wrong 😧

    Helloo from Oz

Hey All! Happy to have found an online forum like LST where people really, really talk about tattoos! Its so interesting to read about all these considerations about tattoos - lifestyle impact, sleeves and squid pants to hearing about great tattoo artists! I am kind of late to getting tattooed? I got my first this year at 29, on my upper back/shoulder and one on my thigh 4 weeks ago. They're all of animals. And I am booking again for a half sleeve in Feb 2019 - Im going to be so impatient! I guess I will hang around here and indulge in other ppl's tattoos and tattoo chats till then! Have a good one!

My modus operandi is "questionable planning". Like almost all of my prior appointments it will be two days ~4 hours each then drive straight from SoG to the airport. Freshly wrapped but hopefully not leaking ink around the TSA scanners!

    Hey there

I keep it clean and dry heal. Newbies always put too much shit on their healing tattoo. Just don't do that.

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

I'm back from State of Grace today, I'll post a picture tomorrow of what we got done. I'm beyond exhausted and sore, we used numbing cream on my ribs to get me through the last 2.5 hours of the session. I will do everything in my power from now on to have 3-4 hour sessions at a time from now on.

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

I am low key obsessed with this traditional rose done for me by Tom Einheuser out of Union 3 Tattoo in Detroit over the weekend. I’m really pleased with the placement, and how my leg is finally starting to fill up! Here are links the artist and shop’s Instagram accounts: https://instagram.com/tattoos_by_tom_einheuser https://instagram.com/union_3_tattoo

  14. When you're getting tattooed and while getting tattooed, you're thinking of stuff to fill in new gaps formed by the tattoo you're currently getting.

  17. Thank you Devious6. From your post, my mind goes to florals, blackwork and maybe big classic oldschool chest tattoo imagery. Things that may be beyond someone's comfort zone to get as a tattoo at this time (or the space is already occupied), but is up the alley and playing with the art. Maybe a series of Asian flowers, dragons, oni, animals etc and a series on classic Americana clipper ships, chest eagles, and a series in blackwork patterns, geometric etc... Interesting. Secondly, it is hard to get away from the universal, matches everything black T-shirt, but I am open to suggestions. Here are some of my first draft flower and blackwork images as well as new geometric one for consideration...

  18. I believe that there is always room for a new company to emerge if it can capture a market share with a different or better product. And, I try to support US owned companies and products made here when possible. in terms of my opinion, remember that I am a newbie to the world of tattoos - just have two, both done in the last 7 months. And, I'm at the upper end of your age demographic at 61. That said, here are my thoughts. Someone needs to begin the process of driving the continued cultural acceptance of tattooing and its recognition as an art form. It seems that most shirts I see, with few acceptances are black and most designs depict the "darker" images - skulls, zombies, villains, etc. Trying to eek out a new market for similar designs on black shirts with US costs would be tough - not impossible, but tough. Personally, I'm looking for that new trendsetter. Colors, different and artistic designs and even classics that show the depth and breath of the art form. That is something I would buy. I've got enough black t-shirts...my wife will tell you I have too many. ? As a retired Army office and now president of a small college, I take every opportunity to show off my tattoos and to break the perceptions of tattoos and people who have them. I wear t-shirts often outside of work so having designs that show the art and artistry of tattooing would be both helpful and refreshing. Just my very limited and personal $.02.
