What a pain in the ass!

I started working on my ass yesterday! Tattoo I mean. I’m working on a body suit and that pasty white ass was really bugging me so I decided to get that tattooed too. I told my artist he could do whatever he wanted, which has always worked out well. My wife said, “ You told him he could do whatever he wanted with your ass?” It’s not as creepy as it sounds.🤔 it didn’t hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would. A little tender around the crack, but not unbearable. He did the outline yesterday, we’re going to color in two sessions, depending on how well I sit.

  15. 3 hours is a real sweet spot for me too. No need to go much longer. Props to those who can continually do the marathon sessions. I like to look forward to my session each month, not dread it 😂.

  16. My back piece took about 18 months. About one session a month. Sometimes two, sometimes skip. 3 hours per session. It was worth it.

  17. Slowly but surely! Realizing now the mindfuck that is a full backpiece. About 15 hours in and not even close to halfway there. Enjoying the process!

  19. Finished up my TMNT piece today. The picture is a little bit before we finished, I forgot to grab a finished shot. Waiting on my artist to send me the video he took.

  20. If it’s not hot, oozing, very painful, and smelly, it’s almost certainly not an infection. I’m not a doctor, but I don’t see anything that looks infected. Tattoos take 4-8 weeks to heal. Enjoy your tattoo.

  22. just keep it clean with anti-bacterial soap and keep the lotion on it a few times a day, it will heal. you could also try a light coat of https://www.walmart.com/ip/Palmer-s-Cocoa-Butter-Original-Solid-Formula-7-25-oz/602195518?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1150

  23. Just wanted to share some new flash I got yesterday, my favorite tattoo shop was running a Friday the 13th promotion and I decided to go for it! Getting custom drawn flash is so much fun. you can really tell how much the artists love each one of their drawings and I am always proud to wear the best of their work. Tattoos like this make me very happy 😊 This one was done by Max at Pretty Sturdy Tattoo in Denver. He has tattooed me before, I love his work. Really all the artists at the shop are amazing- the shop is covered floor to ceiling in all their flash paintings and it’s just really cool. I’m pretty sure my whole arm will be covered in their tattoos eventually. This pic is from last night right after I cleaned it up and put my first saniderm dressing on it. I bled a lot more than I usually do with this one, but maybe it was just a tender spot. Today it looks pretty gnarly but it has calmed down quite a bit and doesn’t sting as much. We are well on the way to a smooth healing process

    The ladies thread

Thanks! I'm amused by the colour progression in the bruising today. It's not sore, but looks like it definitely should be! I have also inquired about a couple specific dates for my elbow, as I've realised I'll be in town for some professional development. Will see if it's enough time or if I just have to wait for a Saturday to come free. Been looking at more aquatic themed ideas for the elbow. Otherwise it will be a flower.

  25. So Kyle had a cancellation at 2pm.... ended up going in for an impromptu elbow ditch pearl in a clam shell! from stencil to walking out, 1hr total! I expected it to be horrible but it was actually fine. I just can't bend real well well at the moment 🤣

Thanks, hopefully I'm one of the ones that it isn't too bad for. Either way, I won't be avoiding it as I want them done. My sternum was easy, but the front of my thigh was shit- so who knows! I filled out a booking form and requested March, so we will see how we go!

    Heavy scabbing

That looks really overworked to me. Just give it a couple of months. If will probably heal fine. I don’t think I’d go back though,

  30. That skeleton hand holding a candle tattoo is really cool. I was thinking of getting something similar on my chest. Then when I wear a t-shirt, you'd only see the flame sticking out. Think it would be a fun subtle tattoo!

so, keep it clean, put a little Aveeno on it a couple times a day, and look at it again when it's healed in 6 weeks. It looks fine, don't scratch it or pick scabs.

    Help with new tattoo

Dan is 100% right. You are exponential more liable to F*** it up than fix it.

  35. Hey guys. Long time no post. Heres an update to this thread. I finally found another artist i liked and got the tattoo i wanted. Check it out. 🙂 I actually was aware of the artist for quite some time but it took me a while to finally be able to make an appointment with them. Its a tattoo of the character Morpeko from Pokemon.

  36. I've been told my the artists when getting a new tattoo or a touch up, and it usually takes two weeks to heal. So like they say experiences may vary
    2 points
  37. Absolutely, it's completely normal to feel anxious before getting your first tattoo. Your design choice sounds meaningful and personal, which is what matters most. Remember, it's your body, your story, and your expression. Trust your decision and the artist's skill; it's likely to turn out great. People's opinions may vary, but your tattoo should reflect your passion for music and the significance it holds for you. Go for it, and you'll likely love the result!

  39. White ink didn’t hurt me more than any other, but my skin is really pale and it looked like I hadn’t been tattooed at all. It was the kimono of my Japanese warrior and my artist wound up redoing it in pale green. No more white ink for me.

    Is this Blowout? Fixable?

You find a four-year-old post and act like an toddler in your reply. Man. You are so cool. 🤣

  41. Oh I'm fully expecting to hate myself for it 🤣 But it will be worth it... right 🥲🥴 Thanks for sharing the pics! Also, loving the stack of skulls on the left arm! Glad to hear you didn't find it too horrible, I'll hold out in hope! While it would be nice to have the same experience as Dan, I'm fully expecting it to suck

    My First Tat?

Hi. Female here. Don't get a cliche tattoo in Vegas if you are worried about the pain. Also, calling people names? Grow the F*** up. Byeeeeeee.

    My First Tat?

Being an ass hole to the people who have been on this forum a long time is not a smart way to get advice. Frankly @Dan is right; if you’re worried about the pain, don’t get one. There’s no way to quantify the pain. I have other helpful hints for first timers.

  46. Rather excited. I asked Kyle if we would have time to at least start the thigh as well as do the left inner bicep in the one appointment and he gave the green light- so booking request form was filled out this morning which means circus horse and flipped lady/demon head on the left thigh to come in August - woo! Thigh we will size up and decide if its front of or side of when I'm in the shop in July. (Possibly similar positioning and sizing as current right thigh tattoo shown in previous post- depends on what Kyle suggests as I am pretty flexible on it) for the mean time- the lucky rabbit foot and elephant have finished flaking and I am in count-down mode for my appointment with Andrew on July 7 . Autumn/Winter has been/is busy ! (Australia)

  47. do your research and please go to a better tattooer, I'm sorry, but IMO that's all crap

  48. looks fine, and even if it is not perfectly level, it's done ! and besides, those coordinates are just south of the equator, and that is a slightly different angle to the circumfrance of the perimetor equalization factor, so you're fine anyway.

  50. Saw this design years ago, and it was a must have at first sight. The problem was that the artist is about 8000 miles from where I’m at. I’ve traveled for tattoos, but not that far! I caught a break though, as the artist was guesting in the USA, and I was fortunate to get a spot. The tattoo came to me. I didn’t even get on a plane. How lucky is that? I’ve been saving this forearm panel for years for this piece, without even knowing how I was going to end up getting it ever. But it worked out in the end. (The link below the photo is a video. The tattoo is a really wide design, so it wraps in my desired body placement and the video shows the wrapped sections) Artist is: Manh Huynh from Vietnam. Video link:
