  1. Most places it is hardcore, punk, metal, etc... I don't really care as long as tattoo artist is happy. I tend to zone out while getting tattooed so its not a big concern. The guy I go to most often has a mix of Beatles, Sabbath, Stereolab, Black Flag, Dr. Dog, King Giant, Queens of the Stone Age. As long as I don't have to listen to Justin Beiber or some bullshit like that, Im good.
  2. got the social d logo and sick of it all dragon when I was 18, first 2 tattoos.
  3. Paul is one of the best showman, great stage banter. Im not in to a lot of the "tough guy" hardcore, but those guys were a different breed to me.
  4. I am pretty out of the loop in the hardcore/punk world unless it is one of my friends bands. Having kids does not help. Had I known Sheer Terror was playing I probably would have made the trip. God I loved Sheer Terror.
  5. Yep, it was right before the first album came out. They use to have the Superbowl of Hardcore in DC every year in Dec or Jan and there would be 30 or so punk/hardcore/metal bands. They were a great band at that point. I saw them on Al's first tour in 98, the tour with the reunited Agnostic Front, US Bombs and Maximum Penalty and they were great as well. H2O, Ive seen them at least 10 times. Shit thats the first date with my babies mama. Very nice guys, always hanging out talking to the kids. Africa Bambata is the shit, have fun.
  6. All of the above are great. I dig Louie CK, Greg Giraldo(rip), Dave Attell and a number of other current comedians. I still dig the old school standups I grew up on: Pryor, old Eddie Murphy, George Carlin, Redd Foxx.
  7. I feel you on the Dropkick crowd. The first time I saw them was 97 with the original singer and maybe 50 people in the crowd, what a show. The first couple of shows with Al were great also. I cant stand seeing a bunch of douchey frat boys "slam dancing." I guess thats just the way things go.
  8. Sternum was crucial. Very close to my armpit and on the shin close to the ankle also blew.
  9. McCarthy is one of the best. Very stark, spare, violent and awesome. Ive read a handful of his books. I was glad I read the Road before I saw the movie, it made the whole thing that much more special. Blood Meridian is the next one up. Ben Nichols put out an album a year ago or so based up on some of the characters in Blood Meridian.
  10. 5 out of 7 times I have seen them they are on the money. They were really good with the horn section this spring. GI is classic, before my time so I am happy to get to see them. I was born too late, DC had a great bunch of bands a couple of years before I was able to go to shows. Its good to know people on the west coast are aware of the old school harDCore bands other than Minor Threat. I had tickects for Scream last year, but couldnt get their due to one of their blizzards. I did see Scream minus Franz this Spring, Pete Stahl has got one of the best voices in Hardcore. It was Kent Stax on drums, Skeeter on bass (awesome guy), Dave Grohl on guitar and Pete singing. Enjoy, they should be great.
  11. I just saw Lucero(ok, last time around they were great) with Social D(very good). I have seen Lucero probably about 6 or 7 times, they are either really on or off. A couple of times they have been so drunk they could hardly function. I am going to see a Government Issue reunion, they were around back in the beginning of hardcore in the DC area. I might also check out the Walkmen, I dig their new album.

  17. I got a bunch of religious tattoos, I have attached photos of a few that were done by Gary Clark back in the 90's in the DC area. I also have the Rock of Ages and a few other pieces which I dont have photos for. I like the timeless appeal, plus I am a believer.
  18. Done a few weeks ago, James Marlowe in Northern VA. Camera phone pic, sorry.
  19. The one where Kramer feeds the horses beefaroni is the shit. The episode with Vandelay industries is one I quote to this day. Great show, I watch them all to this day even though I have seen them all at least 10 times.
