Has a client overweight or not for me personally is not important. Tattoos certainly pushing to have a toned body. On some slender body and picture looks nice but only due to the appearance of the type of object on which a pattern.
But as said above - a tattoo and of itself is a good decoration for any body.
Often heard the opinion that it is necessary first to bring the body into a slender look and people with excess weight does not need to do a tattoo - I think this opinion is wrong and unfair.
Fat people also want to wear on his body something beautiful. He also chooses beautiful clothes (Nobody would choose ugly clothes because he has overweight) and wants a beautiful tattoo. And that's fine and good :)
Not everyone can be for various reasons slim and toned but that's no reason not to do a tattoo if a person wants to do it.

just notice this Margarita...The Saskatoon, Vancouver and Edmonton tattoo conventions are in April. I think the Montreal and Calgary conventions are in October.
Summer/Fall is the best time to see Canada. Don't come in the winter! The major Canadian cities are really spaced out, so while the scenery is beautiful the drives are really long. My $0.02 check out the west coast - Vancouver and take the ferry to Vancouver Island. Ocean, mountains. just go see the sights and visit a few cool shops along the way. good luck

This is my 5 year old Staffy. He's super energetic and playful, I get people constantly asking me if he's still a puppy. Sigh. He's a handful but a great family dog. A couple 'glamor shots' from back when I was super into photography:

Aaaaand one of him letting my 6 month old son climb all over him. He's loving it.

So I think Kelly Edwards was having a little fun with me yesterday. He put the ink cap on the middle of my back... to use on the spot right below your tailbone, right between the top of where your cheeks start. Which so far has been like a rocket blasting off of pain compared to even the rest of my back.
"Now... as I tattoo you, remember, there is an ink cap on your back. A full one. Do...not...move... And I promise, doing this hurts me more than you..."

Margarita Yaschenko got a reaction from polliwog in Hello everyone. Looking for some advice
All design on this thread doesn't good for tattoo on fingers. This is good picture but not for tattoo if you want to see a good tattoo on your skin :) I discourage people about tattoos on his fingers. In a few years all of these tattoos look bad ...If you want to make a drawing for two select another place on the skin and, accordingly, a different idea and make a cool tattoo.

why add to it? i like it - who cares what people assume it to represent - thats the story of most tattoos - I have a Pharoahs Horses tattoo and once had a coworker start to lecture me about the horrors of horse racing - shes a nutjob tho :)

its gonna come down to your persoanl preference as for style - i would say that on these boards there is a general preference towards bold traditional styles of tattooing - that said - you are the wearer of the tattoo - so if you are drawn to a particular style then go for it - your tastes may change - my collection has examples of both bold traditional style and also some portrait style tattoos that dont have bold outlines - some examples:
    the bold:

and not so bold :) :

the general rule is that the more bold traditional styles age better - but life is a pretty uncertain affair so go with what floats your boat right now - sometimes putting in the research, etc is a great idea because you get a good feel for what to expect on the skin - in the immediate and in the future - but tattoos are so much more than this - anyway - enjoy the process and go get tattooed - and then show us of course :)

i used and greywash and opaque grey in my work. Selection of the first or second method depends on the picture but is still a choice preferences. But i more like opaque grey - i think such tattoo look more bright (if such can be said for not colored tattoo) and solid. But method about used graywash darker :)

I'd put away the tattoo machine for now and not touch it until you are safely under the direct supervision of a professional and very experienced mentor. I believe the word for the day is "Apprenticeship".

I agree with you about place of tattoo. Selected open spaces or hands or even face - it's bad for the first tattoo.
    But not size.
You told that people can regret about first big tattoo in future because thei will not like the quality of tattoos or will not like the choice of picture. But! Maybe I'm naive tattoosrtist but i think that people must choice a picture for tattoo and tattooartist very seriuosly before first or not first tattoo. And if the choice of the person to be really serious as the choice of the master he will not regret the tattoo later out-dependence of the choice of the size of the tattoo.
In addition, for some reason, if a person is going to do a little tattoo it less serious approach to the selection of the master and often gets ugly result. Large size also contributes to the fact that the man carefully chooses what he do and for whom. it's just an observation but it still takes place.

Margarita Yaschenko got a reaction from sourpussoctopus in Need advice on tattoo style/artists. Really need help oh great people of this forum
A couple that are relevant here is that 1) lines will thicken over time so if you have a lot of dense linework like in the reference images above chances are that they're going to bleed together over the course of your life; 2) the nature of skin is that it is going to age, your muscles will slacken, your skin will sag, etc., etc., and this is all going to impact how your tattoo will look. A well-designed tattoo is going to be drawn and placed in a way that will, to an extent, take this into account. I am not convinced that a design based only on very precise linework is going to age well.
well and add any element to the sea like a whale or a ship, as mentioned above, be sure to somehow figure will be boring.
    Just for example of styling:

Often it happens. This is especially disappointing when the position for tattooing seems comfortable, and then the body becomes numb and sore in nontattooed body's places.

Margarita Yaschenko reacted to DJDeepFried in Tattoos as a luxury product / the things we are willing to put effort into
Luxury or not there is a particular stigma about money and tattoos that doesn't seem to apply to other goods and services. I had a friend (who has tattoos and knows what they cost) say to me when I started my sleeve something like, "You guys must be doing pretty well," which kinda stuck in my craw. I mean would anybody say that to someone if they pulled up in a Lexus instead of a sh*tbox car? Both take you from point A to B. Why go out to dinner when you can just eat rice & beans from the bulk bin for every meal?
For me the experience of getting tattooed is definitely worth something -- like going to a spa or something. But when you get a massage you don't walk away with anything except a good feeling and that fades. There are also few things in life that are truly one-of-a-kind other than a painting or a sculpture, but with tattoos you carry the art with you all the time.
As far as the money goes, I do feel guilty about it sometimes for reasons I can't quite explain. Then again since I quit drinking and smoking weed, tattoos are pretty much my only vice, and if I added up the $$$ spent on booze and certain illicit substances, I can say with some certainty I'm well ahead of the game!
