  1. It's official, the foot is the worst place that I've been tattooed. I've done my front, knee, and lined my back/butt... the foot was the most uncomfortable. I can't hang with the thin skin and bonezone.
  2. I must have accidentally deleted my post. Came here to say that the work Mike and Henning put on @ironchef is insane. Thanks for sharing, I got lost in those photos. Got to talk to Henning at the convention and he seems like such a great human.
  3. First session from my long and humbling journey with Horitomo, in August. Ignorantly assumed that I'd be able to schedule within 90 days and was sadly mistaken. Won't have my next appointment until July. It's probably for the better, I needed to pump the brakes.
  4. I just finished this on my back calf, with Rob Ryan at Temple. Having him do a Divine Mother in the presence of Freddy was a bet. Friends don't understand why I'd want this as an agnostic... shrug.
  5. Been thinking about this recently with a blank right arm and left leg. I started with Horitomo on my back, and finished a black/gray front with Rich Hardy. My left arm and right leg are almost covered in colored American traditional from different artists. Thinking about doing Japanese folklore in American style patchwork, on my right arm. Hard to say.
  6. There doesn't seem to be a ton on him, but Daredevil Tattoo in NY has maintained a bit of his history. I wish that there was more. Needles and Sins Tattoo Blog | Martin Hildebrandt's Tattoo Legacy
  7. Thanks! He was a pleasure to work with. Really pumped on how it's taking shape.
  8. One more session on this Martin Hildebrandt tribute, by Rich Hardy. Damn did that lower torso session suck.
  9. I just finished my front torso, the top was fine but 4 hours on the belly was hellish. I start on my back in a month and am wondering if the pain is comparable? Front vs. Back, what do you feel was worse?
  10. Just figured out who tattooed it! Martin Hildebrandt, who was one of the first tattooers in NYC and the U.S.. It makes sense that it would be him because he came from Germany where the machine was first invented. Thanks for the help! Still thing to figure out who it was on though.
  11. Thank you! That page is really cool, and some of his orig photos are up on Ebay. I can't imagine that tattoo being by hand poke, and the machine was apparently invented in 1891 hah. Such a mystery. Anyway I'm enjoying the search as much as the rest of the experience.
  12. I'm starting a tribute with Rich Hardy and I'd love to know who tattooed this/whose body it's on. I believe that this person was a part of the circus, as many of Eisenmann's subjects were. I can't seem to find any more information. Thanks for any help in advance!
  13. I'd love to see this @GlaryMilberg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Great video, thanks for sharing. @heathenist I can't imagine how honored you are to have that Jesus tattoo. Every time I see it, I'm pumped. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Wow @TrixieFaux I have an absurd amount of appointments booked and I keep going back and forth on whether or not I should sneak a Chris Conn, in the case that he stops again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. She did an fine job at dropping El-P and Jeff Zuck's name. So many of those Jezebel articles are reaching. I feel like one of the benefits to struggling through and becoming a professional artist, is the ability to abide by your own code of ethics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Haha most definitely Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Some bangers on this page! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I work with unhoused individuals, an overlapping population. I never know what type of response our participants will have but most of them get pumped when I wear short sleeves. Some of our participants will share their legendary single needle body suits from prison with me. I'll have to post some soon. @Synesthesia I was standing in line last month at 7-11 , in typical formal wear for city meetings and the kid in front of me was talking to a stranger about his severely infected tattoo. I usually don't butt into conversation but the random dude in line tried advising him to put all types of weird shit on it. I quietly advised him on what he should do to finish the heal. They looked at me like I was from outer space. I pulled up my pant to show him a tattoo I was healing (4 days in) with the method suggested and both of them tripped out, yelling to their friends across the 7-11 and getting rowdy looking at them. When I turned around I overheard them talking about their off assumptions of me and my unsolicited advice. Ended up asking me a ton of questions. Anyway, I enjoy being able to undercover just as much as I love wearing shorts and short sleeves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
