  1. I am planning traditional on my left leg, traditional on my left arm and I was going for a japanese piece on my right thigh, but at the moment I am thinking about going for japanese on my whole right foot. Allready got a booking with Marius Meyer for the thigh.

  2. The backpiece is done (for now at least) and i couldn't be more happy with it. Unfortunately i managed to pick up a chest infection which put a bit of a dampener on my trip to Oslo but there's no taking the smile off my face right now.

Pretty much all the colour is fresh as well as a couple of the darker parts of the skull so it'll look a lot different once everything has settled down i'm sure. I don't mind admitting i barely made it through this session, definitely the hardest one i've had (certainly not helped by illness) but i'm so fucking glad we got to the end.

    By the legendary Marius Meyer.

Now we await the healing process.... Also that left arm is looking pretty damn bare isn't it... fuck.

    Love it!

  3. I feel like my hobbies are all over the place, I have tried to narrow it down in the later years. Since I don't have time to do everything + hobbies tend to cost a lot of money.

Well here are some of the hobbies I used to be into or are currently doing: warhammer both fantasy and 40k(more painting than playing, had no one to play with), magic the gathering(on a very basic lvl), bmx (there are almost only scooter kids in my skatepark now though..) and skateboarding.

    Edit:

I don't know if any of my hobbies have had an influence on me when it comes to tattoes though.

  4. Placement is how I've decided what's next...when you running low on your empty space you have to be mindful of the sequence you are getting your pieces, to not interfere with free space and placement of other upcoming works you have planned.

I have pretty much free space at the moment, but I am thinking about what to place where later on. Since I am getting a Japanese piece now, and are planning to get a lot more traditional pieces later on.

  5. i absolutely feel that if you love the artists work, you will love whatever you get from them. Give them a vague idea of what you want/ like and chances are they''ll nail it in a way that they know how.

But again, you've gotta love and trust their work/ art.

This is what I have done for the piece I am getting this summer, I gave the artist some pointers and I will let him do his thing based on it.

  6. I started my back last Thursday with Alex Binnie at Into You in London. The snakes head, and the maple leaves are stencils, and the snakes body was drawn on. The outline will continue onto my backside, and will be done next time. The time tattooing was roughly between 3 1/2 - 4 hours.

    Looking really good so far!

  7. I would go by tattooer not tattoo and let the guy/girl know what your thinking, ie: eagle is one of the tattoos you want and tattooer on top of your list may respond with " i have this eagle tattoo I have been wanting to do" easy peasy

Sounds like a good idea, all the tattooers work a long way away from my hometown though.

  8. I factor in a few things:

Season - How will it heal in which season, in summer I prefer less covered body parts over covered.

Body Part - Favorite body parts come first

Money/ Size - I would decide for the smaller tattoo if the bigger one breaks the bank when the appointment comes around.

But that's just me, I'm a planner with such things.

    Thanks for all the help.

A lot of great tips in this thread, I think the season one will play a huge part. Since I am thinking about gettin the tattoo this summer.

  9. I makes me really happy to hear that you're considering Nicholas. He's a really really good tattooer, but for some reason his work doesn't get anywhere near the attention it deserves, I feel. I got a really cool little namakubi from him a couple years ago, and I'm looking forward to getting more tattoos from him in the future. You really should get tattooed by both of them though. Great guys, who do great tattoos.

He does some awesome heads, and the few sleeves I have seen on his instagram looks really cool too.

I just have to decide which of my planned projects to start next. I want to get a traditional sleeve started, a traditional chest piece and I also have some japanes stuff planned in the back of my head. Wanting a tattoo, but not knowing what is driving me crazy.

  10. Welcome!

I think that will be the Tattoo advice section (correct me if I am wrong), but you can't make a new thread until you have made 10 posts.

By the way, what are you favourite tattoo styles?
