We had almost 100 in the judging, and over 100 motorcycles there at the Possum Gathering.

S Stu....thank you!  I'm not usually drawn to neo-traditional as a lot of it is too cartoon-ish for me, but I absolutely love all the color and fantasy style many of their artists use. I have followed several of their Instagrams and will check them out.

Unkindness is the only shop I'm familiar with and could recommend to you there, but it's more of a neo-traditional specialized crowd.

I sit well. I tip well. I don’t bring drama. You know what that gets me? Back in! I’ve had artists come in hours before the shop opens, stay late and fit me into their otherwise insanely booked schedules. I’m basically commissioning a piece of art from them for every tattoo. I am more than happy to tip!

It’s been a long road, and soon I will start the next chapter on this adventure of mine.
I was laid off from a job I had for 21 years in July of 2016 because of downsizing, I left there on good terms believe it or not. Thanks to the Human resources manager and general manager, they were both willing to and did give me great references the entire time I was job hunting.
To back up a little, my job search actually started in late 2014 as I knew the company I worked for was doing badly and was in the process of barely surviving, downsizing, maybe going under.
So I had started applying big time, I knew I wanted to work for the state of California, or county of Sacramento, or City of Sacramento, and I also told myself that I never wanted to have to cover my tattoos again, like I did with the job I had.
After countless applications and interviews, and a couple seasonal jobs and used up unemployment, and several offers from a variety of places, mostly part time, no benefits, limited term, low pay, etc, etc.
So fast forward to July 2017, I finally got a job offer from an application I did in May of 2015!
After all this work and trouble, Not only did I get a good offer, it was the PERFECT offer!
I start August 21st with the County of Sacramento Probation Department !
Which is going to be 7am to 3pm M-F,
    12.5 paid holidays,
2 weeks’ vacation to start(5 weeks after 5 years),paid benefits for my wife and myself, permanent  full time, good retirement pension, etc, etc.
I held out for a few things and got them, weekends off, I don’t have to cover any of my tattoos, and paid benefits.(those may seem trivial but they are important to me)
After a year of no permanent good work, this is really huge for me and my wife, any of you in the job search world, you know how important benefits, full time, and permanent are.
It took me almost 3 years of searching to get to this point.
    So that’s my awesome news!

S Stu gave you good advise.
I'll add to #5: I have a half-sleeve on one arm and a large piece on the other upper arm. Neither is actually very visible in regular short sleeved shirts. I have several large pieces on my thighs and lower legs and those definitely draw attention when I wear shorts, but jeans of course hide them all. I haven't yet progressed to forearms, as I'm not quite ready for something I can't cover easily (I live in the deep South and long sleeves are a rare thing for me out of uniform). You have to realize that you WILL get looks/stares, but that doesn't mean disapproval!  You'll probably get asked about your visible tattoos fairly often; again that's not a bad thing! I think S Stu's advise is sound: get more tattoos in more easily hidden places, and move to more visible places as your confidence grows.
    Good luck!

You are not a basket case. These are great questions and ones that SHOULD be asked/considered. You are putting something permanently on your body. Go with @SStu and @wildcat advice. I'm hard core corporate during the day and almost everything is covered (which is hard in the summer) but my tattoos on my upper back/neck peek out of my shirts. It's all good.
Funny story from last week: I showed up at a customer site all buttoned up and wearing black tights in the middle of summer. I had read that this customer had a "no visible tattoos" policy for customer facing roles. About 10 minutes into my visit, the Director rolled in wearing shorts and sporting a large calf tattoo. I silently giggled to myself.

I know that I am reviving an OLD post, but I couldn't really find anything else on the subject.
I am female, and although I don't care for the underboob thing (for me), I recently saw a picture that opened up a whole new world of possibilities in my mind(attached for illustrative purposes). The subject matter and/or quality of work isn't what struck me, but placement!
I never even thought of doing of front piece that way - placed under the breast line, but continuing as one cohesive piece past the waistline, similar to a back piece.  Don't ask me why this never occurred to me, but it hadn't.
However, this is the ONLY photo of this sort of placement and size of work that I have found.  Anyone else have any experience, sightings, etc.?  What is your opinion?

I guess I just don't see many pictures of women with large scale stomach tattoos. It's always those little underboob things or something across the bottom.
It's a nice large open space....I need to start planning something apparently :)

My backpiece by Chris Crooks is finished for now. Will be extending down to the knees this summer. Two full consecutive days to get it finished, forgive the redness and bloodinfused colors.
