  1. i check a case with needles, tubes, pigment, power supply, etc. and ALWAYS carry on my machines in my bag. they usually ask me to take them out, the last 4 times i flew, though, they didn't even bother. a few years ago i did fly with needles and tubes as a carry-on with no problem. i think i just got lucky. also, my travel case (the one i check) has NO stickers on it. the reason is, if your case is covered in tattoo shop stickers, don't you think it just screams "steal me! i'm filled with tattoo equipment!" ???
  2. i'll have to ask him...he has the best stories. and i'll be seeing you tomorrow!
  3. laser removal is the worst pain you will (hopefully) ever feel. BUT its quick and worth it. kinda like cigarette burns.

  5. hell yeah, get tattooed by good tattooers, people who have ten yrs or more in this craft! not the local hotshot internet sensation who knows some color blending tricks. i mean KNOWLEDGE.
  6. there's LOTS of fat, unhealthy vegans/vegetarians out there. haha...not eating meat is not an automatic perfect health! plenty of vegan food is pastas, soy, fried, and packed with calories.
  7. what these two guys above said. plus, making tattooing your priority, not skateboarding, music, drinking, etc. that should go without saying, but i see it all around in this business. tattooing is not for subsidizing your partying or hobbies. not that we can't blow off steam or have other interests, but it shows in your work, and attitude at work when tattooing is not your priority, or vocation, as it should be.
  8. chad, that's true! some people just aren't worth the aggrivation. and sometimes you can tell the person sucks by what they want to get!
  9. i do mostly everything and try to be objective...but i won't do lips, solid bands around the arm, or anything on the face.
  10. we have thursday night as our designated family tv/dinner night, saturday nights are date night, sunday-monday (my days off) are about getting stuff done/running errands and NOT drawing or painting. i don't bring any work home. as we've talked about, its rough working til midnight with a family. on the one hand it can be a fun and busy shift, but i'd love to be able to put my son to bed every night and spend some time just being at home. i think just being there, at night is important. even if kathy and henry are both asleep, i feel good just being home, and i know they appreciate that i wasn't out somewhere instead of being home.
  11. that's a good point...if i'm using the exact reference someone brought in from their own computer, then it puts more responsibility on them!
  12. i never get treated differently or searched, and the last few times i flew with equipment, they didn't even search it or ask about it.

  14. it's just the way things are today, and it's not gonna go away, might as well make the best of it, you know?
  15. welcome to tattooing in the 21st century! designs on cell phones. we have a shop email set up just for people to email them to us so we can print it up, otherwise they can run over to kinko's and print it up. we don't let anyone put a disk or flashdrive on our computers. there's a good iphone app, though. "hp iprint". it prints to your hp printer through the wifi. it's great for duplicating a tattoo already on someone or to do a quick sketch for a cover-up to give the client an idea of what you're thinking. just take a phone pic and print it out.
  16. hell yeah julio! my first time out west, first real tattoo trip! thanks to you! we were stoked when we got back. we got tattooed by scott at 222, saw tattoo city (in the old spot, before they moved), lyle tuttle's, picture machine, primal urge, new skool...
  17. no, i never heard anything about her! i was worried there would be a lawsuit. hope her luck turned around, though! that stuck with me, i was shaken for a couple of days. definately the worst experience i've had in a tattoo shop.
  18. thanks! it's on someone apprenticing. and yeah, it's a louis vuitton armrest, haha.
