  1. BUMP! I know plenty of you have been following and supporting on the ol' Instagram (the only social media I'm equipped to use.. poorly) but just wanted to post more updates here! We've got 70 -- SEVENTY -- participating artists. Including Timothy Hoyer, Michael Aul, Antonio Roque, Bailey Robinson, Jerry Ware, Marina Inoue.... Gonna be a good one! The talented Nash Hogan is painting a flyer that'll be done soon and the talented Mr. Spider Man himself, Matt Arriola, just posted a rough of a t-shirt design he'll be doing for the show. And it fucking rules. Give a follow on Instagram if you've got it for (slightly) more frequent updates! Show's comin up... Friday, March 6th at Eight of Swords Tattoo in NYC. Website. Instagram. Thank you.
  2. @SStu had a good point, that just landing on something (flower, panther, hourglass, lady head, whatever) can be just as powerful to you as literally spelling it all out as a straight up memorial tattoo @Ubderdad247
  3. Welcome dude, which shops? What brought you to NY?
  4. @Iwar That was so great!! I saw you post something on your instagram but didn't know you'd done it. Really nice man, perfect way to start my morning! Can we expect more? Are you the new Norwegian tattoo ambassador?
  5. @Joe Shit thanks man. And wow, Tsunami looks like a beautiful shop.
  6. Might be able to go this year! New schedule's got me off on Sat/Sun -- fingers crossed..
  7. John Biswell/Made Rite looks pretty good! Also @Joe Shit -- do we know how to pronounce Phuc's name? Fook? - - - Updated - - - @Fala also, please keep it under wraps in case you and Jason are out at, say... that bar I work at! @beez one of the things we like about it is that while it's much smaller than NYC it doesn't feel isolated. Close to Boston, Portsmouth, a 45 minute flight to NYC.. and seems to have a really great community for small businesses. - - - Updated - - - I don't think we had a single lobster roll last time we were there hahaha. Too busy with fried chicken and steamers and 'gansett tall boys.
  8. Hey JC, where you located? Where you working?
  9. Thanks dude, heard nothing but good things about Portsmouth!
  10. Myself and the lovely @MrsGougeTheEyes visited Maine over the summer and we're heading back this month. And possibly this spring.. possibly full time. So: tattoo shops in Portland?! What goes on up there? I popped into one (the name of which I can't even remember) and the work looked prettaaay prettayyy... prettayy.. not good. So get at me about Portland and also Maine in general if you know anything!
  11. Wow. Personally, I'd zap it with a laser once or twice and get something else. Or, either way, really, go see Mike Moses at Spiritus Tattoo in Columbus, dude is a very talented artist and tattooer.
  12. The best thing you can do is call the shop or send an email, lay down a deposit, and treat him/her professionally. Protocol should be the same whether the person is "famous" or not.
  13. Good links @Graeme those look like awesome references.
  14. Why am I so lazy when it comes to music?! Not sure if this is from this year but I've been listening to the Iron Chic album The Constant One a lot lately.
  15. @SeeSea just thought this one came out the best? Here's the one with the flash so you can all our lovely faces!
  16. Buncha mysterious people sitting in the shadows.. Good to have a few drinks with you guys and finally meet in person!!
  17. Yeah, the food at Matchless ain't much. Guess we can decide if we want to get a better meal when we're there? @dirbab come out! - - - Updated - - - Oh -- or we could actually reserve some space at The Rich. This is where I work http://www.therichardsonnyc.com/ I am there often but could be convinced.. It's a little less crazy than Matchless and nicer. And has decent sandwiches and snacks.. Say the word and I can reserve a small area.
  18. @Fala @Pugilist @Graeme @ironchef did you guys all decide on Manhattan? Sundays could be fun at the NoMad bar on 28th.. I hear it's usually pretty quiet (as opposed to the crazy weekdays). I think they close at 8 on Sundays so we could grab one or two there and head somewhere else for food? @MrsGougeTheEyes care to weigh in?
  19. Oh yeah!! Thanks for reminding me on another form of social media to pick up one of these!
  20. Coming from north Brooklyn, where you guys staying?
  21. Ok all, looks like we can make this! Did you already decide on a place for drinks prior to dinner?
  22. @MrsGougeTheEyes Sunday the 23rd are we around?
