  1. we do body suits and names with juice dripping cherries and everything in between. cool skull or shitty tribal, bottom line is, it pays the rent and i don't dig ditches.
  2. i have tats by many of the guys named in this thread, and most healed very quick and perfectly, i was just pointing out that not every fast tattooer is the most proficient at putting them on AND having them look good a year later.
  3. i think its important to see the tattoos of some of these "fast guys" healed. cause i have seen plenty of a few of them and they are rough. and it wasn't entirely the fault of the person healing it.....
  4. i cancelled my tat appointments because i almost died in the earthquake. well, i mean a book landed near me and a few of my pictures were crooked. i think i need an indefinite leave of absence due to work related trauma. think i can get a government supplement?? that is all.
  5. i no longer drink, but when i did i prefered Bushmills whiskey and anything 3 floyds made. 3floyds
  6. nice to see a scott sylvia machine represented and in action on that backpiece. and the shirtless video reminds me of working with freddy corbin and eric hogan in sacto in the mid 90's. all thats missing is the NO air condition and leather pants. lol.
  7. my advice to anyone wanting to learn how to tattoo is, go find another profession. my advice to people teaching others to tattoo is go find a tall bridge and jump the fuck off.
  8. i love murray, he is a good tattooer and a solid friend. works hard and paints his ass off.
  9. i sympathize with her disease and love the "back to black" record from start to finish.
  10. and if you've really got some time, take it over to mitchell brothers.
  11. how this thread has made it to page 3 without anyone mentioning the most important, legendary, and must see place to experience/use is in SF is truly disappointing to say the least. THE LUSTY LADY. jesus, after you hit blackheart and make your way towards tattoo city, go stand in someones mess and work out your stress for 5 minutes. thats the SF experience.
  12. its your tattoo and you have to live with it. Eli put his time and effort into it, but you sought him out and payed for it and now wear it. if you don't like it, its yours to change. i would talk to him first about the changes you would like to make and hope he wants to work it out with you. but in the end you made the choice and can live with it or not.
  13. Jinx Proof Tattoo in Washington , DC is having quite a few well known guest artists coming to work in the next 6 months. Jason Goldberg from Olde City in Philly, "osti" Ralf Ostermöller from germany, Richard Stell in august or early september, Tim Lehi from blackheart in september, and Scott Sylvia also from Blackheart by October. i know i'm forgetting someone but its gonna be a good year for sure.
  14. in '94 or '95 i sat for just over 9 hours with aaron cain. knee to ankle, all the way around. if you ever got tattooed by him you know its horrific. ten minute in i knew i was a retard. finished it later with another 6 hour session. fuck.
  15. yep thats me. us thugs, and nate was hilarious. i slimmed down a bit, learned to tattoo and i've owned a shop in washington DC for almost 15 years now.
  16. whats up shannon. i doubt you'll remember but i got some script from you below my neck when you did some tats at american graffitti back in about '95. (spirit of youth "88) never knew you stopped tattooing, good to see your on here. thanks man. karl
  17. i don't have a pic of the 222 frame but scott might be able to post a pic. the blue frame on the bottom right is handmade by scott as is the one on the far right in the middle row. the bulldog on the top row next to the SF machine is from the first run of malone/cifferi frames they made in about '99. scott got the frame and built it and used it for years. the silver colored coleman frame in the middle row i got from bert krak. he got it from jimmy at luckys and has a #1 engraved on it. scott doesn't remember engraving it but i am assuming jimmy engraved it and its possibly the first one he sold from lucky's. the one on the bottom row with the "SS" and "D&G" engraved on it is the first henry prototype.
  18. thought i'd post a few of my machines i've gotten from scott (or made with him). i sell and trade shit all the time but each of these are with me till the end.
  19. i had one just like that from the first batch of those carved jonesy's. there were like 20 or 24 or something. upside down capacitor and all. i sold it years ago for $800. wish i still had it.
  20. well good luck getting one from carlos. last i saw of him his mug shot was on the cover of "busted" in austin for theft. not to mention he did some of the worst tattoos i've ever gotten. holy shit.
  21. i've tried quite a few creams and there is one that definitely works and does not affect the skin whatsoever. its called maxiline and so far i believe you can only get it in canada. i have it shipped to me via a friend and that shit works great. way better than emla or dr numb or lidocaine patches. we have used it at the shop probably 50 times and have seen no issues with putting the ink in or the healing.
  22. scott did the roses and water in my arm in late '95 and '96. freddie outlined this rose in '95 and higgs colored it in '96 or '97. shitty pictures but you get the point.
  23. theres some choice ones in there for sure. i got my eye on one.........lol. post some close ups of the good ones.
  24. that puma is a good one. i ran out of dicks so send me some.
  25. i would charge $200 per session for a tattoo like that. less if i knew you were travelling from far away. look into it further or even travelling, because if you try to cover that its gonna be bad news.
