    ICP thread

Yes, the fact that he had some talent and enough drive/technical ability to regularly update a blog lead me to believe he probably wasn't a juggallo lol. and a porn convention you say? Go on... lol
  2. Hey LST'ers I'm heading back to Japan on the 25th of August for 3 days and just seeing if there is anyone on here around the Kansai region (Kyoto/Osaka specifically) that could be keen to chill? Arigato Gozaimasu! Micheal
  3. ^^ hahaha I was looking at that photo and going through the list Juggalo Tattoo - check WWE Shirt - Check "Ass Kickin' Home Grown" Shirt - Check Pregnant Missus with Possible meth sores - check And then i realised this photo needed a mullet to be complete. At first i was saddened by the no mullet situation... and then I looked in the right corner behind the prime candidate for mother of the year and behind the stripy shirt guy - win.

(Just had a quick look through the rest of the dudes blog, he does some great live photography with some skill... probably not a Juggalo)

    ICP thread

Hahaha thats awesome! Is the guy a Juggalo? Or is he just a photographer who can see the excellent* (*see sometimes scary/hideous) subject matter? And Ursula, don't worry - one day we will all be fortunate enough to make it to an ICP convention, or 'The Gathering' if you will. (I'm getting all up on my Juggalo vocabulary)

I found this link people: Driven By Boredom: The Tumblr Your welcome ;) or maybe I should be apologising? I don't know, either way enjoy lol

    ICP thread

This thread cracks me the f*ck up... Where's Dan? I think we'd all like an update on his current juggalove status, no? Ursula, I think you should give up the 'motherload' link. I don't want to look, but the endless lolz force me to
  8. Pre: Try and get good sleep (never happens, to excited), eat a good meal about an hour before to let it digest... and bitch about getting tattooed haha During: Water and juice at the ready, and some chocolate for the breaks Post: Another good feed, a beautifully rolled joint, a shower when its time, finish the joint and have naps. Unfortunately though, joints aren't always an option in Japan so a beer also goes down a treat to help with naps. I was once going to take a muscle relaxer when I was finishing off my first sleeve as I had to sit until it was done (the artist was heading overseas) There was even a pharmacy next to the studio. however, because the session was after hours the pharmacy had shut and so I had to suck it up for the 5 hours. 2 1/2 of those hours was the inside of my upper arm... and it truly did suck lol. My mate had already been tattooing for around 10hours, wasn't leaving until finished, and suffice to say he wasn't in the best mood/tired so he was a little more heavy handed than usual haha
  9. Every year I've said "nothing this summer its going to be too hot and I want to go swimming"... but then every year that never happens... why must I lie to myself!?
  10. I don't have a lo of details as my Japanese is only conversational and average at best + I can't read Japanese at all, BUT anyone in Japan/Kansai Region might want to check this out: Straight Life 2011.10.2 (Sun) Location: Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Osaka vacant lot OPEN 12:00 pm-9: 00pm adv \ 3000 - door \ 3500 (Yen) As I said I don't have a lot of info, however I will try and get more for any interested LST'ers ;) What I do know is that there are around 71 studios (it may be artists - never trust google translate!) Live music and other stuff
  11. I present Meowtron! This had me dying!! You can get limited edition prints here: Kube
  12. Hrmmm soul in exchange for a Lemmy beard... win.
  13. *Side Story During the Edo period, fireman would get body suits of water motifs such as Dragons and Koi as the belief was these designs would protect them from the spirit of the fire. It was also believed that as the group of fireman would run towards the fire screaming, half naked (in traditional Japanese cloth underwear) covered in formidable tattoos, that the fire spirit would be intimidated and thus easier to overcome. Apparently limited clothing was worn to try and avoid catching on fire. (It probably would suck) (this info is only from what I have read and since I wasn't there can not be confirmed or denied by myself)
  14. I realise this thread has sort of died, but incase anyone wants to see what a Sento looks like here are some photos. My friends Grandpa operated the bath house until the area got a built up and a bit more modern (houses started to get their own baths) and closed it. Its still connected to his house though and thats where we showered. His grandson (my mate) mentioned to me that his grandpa was the only sento owner in the area that would let Yakuza in since most of them where his friends since childhood. I wish I could get copies of some of his old photos! I'll be back in Osaka/Kyoto in 3 weeks to visit The Cat Claw Tattoo-z so I'll try and get copies of Grandpas' old yakuza photos. Photo 3 is the 'Male side' of the bath house (sorry for the bad light)
  15. I wish I had of been aware of your transformers sale...
  16. Dan what are you talking about? Your rocking a beard in your profile pic? ;)
  17. The bear probably wouldn't even put up a fight. He'd just say "Thats one tough mudder"
  18. Cheers for shedding some more light on this for me Capt. I knew Hori was japanese for engraver/carver but was unaware of how significant it was or wasn't? But it is something I am interested in finding out more about. (Arigato gozai-mas)
  19. I'm guessing shark week will be coming to an end shortly so here's a few at the last minute. All by Norm and all stolen off his blog WILL RISE
  20. I love Simons cat!!! haha I havent seen it in years - apparently the guy that animates it, started learning flash animation and this is what came from it
  21. Not exactly the same deal, but along very similar lines - I stumbled across a European artists blog recently, and although the artists doesn't do Tebori (as far as I know) he does have a Japanese 'Hori' name and has even started a tattoo family. Nothing really abnormal there, except that he goes on to say that he's never studied under a Japanese master? Now I'm not saying this artists work is bad, far from it, its quite well done. Just not sure what to think about people giving themselves names that are meant to be passed on once you reach a standard and are steeped in tradition (from what I know anyway)
