  1. I'd go to immaculate in Mesa, you might not see a lot of this type of stuff in their portfolio but everyone at that shop is a solid tattooer and should be able to give you something you would be happy with. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  2. I went to one of those last year and had a great time! I was talking to the guys a week later and they said they put on 50+ tattoos that day! Missed it this year but it was fun. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  3. Front Street in traverse city is also quite good if Marquette is way more North than you are. Depending on how much you wanna drive there's a lot of options downstate too Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  4. https://www.instagram.com/p/BFWh_a2FGP6/. Went down to Denver yesterday to say hey to Chad... Of course I'm going to get tattooed. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  5. Seems like something you could ask your mentor Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  6. Honestly I found the stomach to be much easier than higher up on the chest and the front of the ribs, but I've heard the opposite from some people too so there's that. Who were you going to have do your torso? Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  7. Thought the same Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  8. Jeff is awesome, I saw a Japanese backpiece he did in person recently and I was floored. True he doesn't seem to be making as much Japanese stuff lately but it's worth calling and seeing if he's interested, AA is what like a 5 hour drive from Chicago? Mike Dorsey is in Cincinnati, love seeing his stuff too.
  9. Cindy is awesome, my friend just got a painting from her and it's great
  10. Instead of going back in and trying to fix what you don't think is perfect with those I'd just get more tattoos around them to be stoked on, if it still bothers you down the road you can always revisit them later but in the meantime I think a new tattoo altogether would help more
  11. Getting the tattoo wasn't nearly the worst tattoo pain I've had, but I did have (or am having) a rough heal, I don't think I kept it elevated enough the first couple days so that could have been my problem
  12. @polliwog nice! I was loving that one when it popped up on instagram, glad it belongs to someone here! Eddy is the man. Oh, I got a little filler yesterday from Nikki Balls, I'll get a picture up soon. edit: here's a picture https://www.instagram.com/p/BEbXDZfIzSb/
  13. Knees are no joke, Chad did one of mine a couple weeks ago and I'm still healing slowly, took a week off work for the swelling and I was still limping around by the time I went back to my job.
  14. Knee zapper from Chad Koeplinger the other day in Denver

    Hello!

Welcome to LST! What kind of tattoos are you into?
  16. My nipples were untouched when we filled out my chest/torso, got really close to the left one, can't imagine blasting over them.
  17. deified my shin a bit with Eddy Deutsche on friday, been waiting for this one a while, stoked! What a great dude Eddy is, and totally mesmerizing to watch him work.
  18. He's going to be in Denver just before this starts, don't think I can swing two from him within a month but maybe...
  19. Quick one from Nate Hudak while he was visiting my friends shop down the road.
  20. I've got a couple that I'm excited about in the next couple months, scored appointments for upcoming guest spots in Denver with Eddy Deutsche, and I'll see Chad down there just before he starts his 50 state tour.
  21. So I was hanging out at my local shop going through Piotrs new book full of old woodblock prints and I saw in the corner of a Kuniyoshi diptych depicting Taira no Tomomori these little fish samurai dudes, I told him you don't see enough fighting fish, usually just rats and frogs carrying swords, and he sketched/painted this guy up for me. Piotr Kopytek Blue Heron Tattoo Frisco, CO
  22. Jay Thurley (@jaysoos on IG) put this panthernator on my shoulders yesterday. These neck tear-throughs are tough to photograph, didn't get one from above my head to show the whole effect.
  23. Welcome to LST! What kind of tattoos are you into? There's a bunch of great shops in Michigan, I've been tattooed at Name Brand, and at Spiral Tattoo, both in Ann Arbor. I like seeing what's coming out of Depot Town (ypsi) and Harlequin (hamtrack), and the guys at Sovereign Arms in Grand Rapids do some cool stuff too. I know somebody with a really cool sleeve from Christopher Bettley at Plowshare in Cascade as well. Front Street in TC is cool if you're a little further north, and of course Chicago is full of great tattooers if you don't mind a little drive.
  24. Welcome from a fellow (transplant) Coloradan!
