I got a decent sized tattoo on my shin, iced and elevated it like all my old skate/snowboard injuries and that kept the swelling down and I never had a tingly blood rush feeling getting out of bed. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk

Asking the artist to tattoo whatever they want

The last few have been "hey I've got this weird space to fill and I liked seeing [example of previous work] from you, what do you think will fit?" I try to give a little direction since I have a good idea of what I like from my favorite tattooers, but sometimes the shape of the space is enough to prompt cool ideas that I couldn't come up with on my own, sketchbooks and flash are of course also good ways to get something unique. -

Who are you thinking of getting tattooed by? Your best bet with essentially any of those questions is going to be to ask them directly, as different tattooers approach convention work (and work at home you could say) differently. Shoot your tattooer an email or call their shop and see what they say.

I was thinking of like a pharaohs predatory cats type of situation for my thigh once but I'll probably stick with ponies. Leopard, mountain lion, panther or something along those lines.

Not the latest, but I finally got some decent pictures of my wings and eyes from Erik Von Bartholomaus. Wraps almost all the way around, making it pretty tough to take pictures of. Sorry the first picture is sideways.

They just rereleased The Good Book in softcover, I was pretty bummed to have missed it last time around. Just a heads up if anyone else was looking for a copy. Also just ordered Deno's new book and Byrne's magazine.

It took me a while to receive it as well, Doug pretty much handles the whole HardyMarks operation himself so I guess a couple bumps in the road are to be expected. I had to call to get it sorted but it all worked out.

The lower down the leg (and further from the heart) the longer it will take to heal, there's a whole thread about healing lower leg tattoos that could provide some insight. I'm posting from my phone or I'd link to it. I'd say it's a little early to start worrying just yet, the new skin that develops under a scab is slightly opaque, sometimes described as "milky," which is probably why the red seems pink right now, so just give it time before you get scared.

Going to Michigan next month for a family reunion type deal and managed to squeeze in an appointment with Michael Aul. Funny thing, he'll be in Denver within the next couple weeks so of course when I said I was calling from Colorado he thought I wanted to set something up at Lifetime.

This always sounds like such a great time, I know one of these years I'll have to make my way up. I hear nothing but good things about Montreal and the imitation poutine that gets served around here has me hungry for the real deal. -
