  1. Check out Sovereign Arms Tattoo and Wealthy Street tattoo if you wanna stay in town. If you get over to Ann Arbor that opens up a bunch more options for you. edit: I just wanted to second @PizzaSteve in recommending Plowshare, Bettley is putting a rad ganesh sleeve on a friend of mine from high school and it looks great. I'm only really in MI for about a week per year anymore so sometimes good shops slip my mind.
  2. @PizzaSteve I saw your new Zuck piece (killer tattoo by the way) are you near Ann Arbor or did you go just for the tattoo? Jon Larson at Depot Town in Ypsi has been doing some super bold namkubi tattoos that might be right up your alley
  3. @rufio I've traveled for sessions on my chest, once where I flew home right after the session and once where I flew out the next morning. I wasn't too terribly uncomfortable on the plane either time but I think healing was a little smoother when I went straight home and got to wash up in my own home. I work a job with extremely variable amounts of physicality and sometimes during healing I did work up quite a sweat but everything worked out pretty well. My one experience with tegaderm (may be a few pages back in this thread) I ended up sweating so much the stuff just peeled off on that first day.
  4. Veep is great but I've fallen a bit behind, there's a new show coming up on comedy central called Another Period, pilot was on demand, great cast. Seems funny so far
  5. Sorry I didn't take pictures but I just got home from my town's annual BBQ challenge. They shut down main street and bbqers from all over the country compete to feed everyone the best smoked meats. We had a wild boar gyro and some phenomenal shrimp and sausage kebabs.
  6. @Rob I I am really impressed with your back, sorry the time it's taken has been a source of controversy around here. But I do think the subject of backpiece times is interesting to read into, I haven't even decided who I'd like to tattoo my back yet so I can't really weigh in on that one yet but I know after about 6ish hours of Chad drilling on my front that your tattoo is well earned to say the least.
  7. Good ol' Jerry hexapus, love that image @marley mission
  8. I'd love to see what you got done so far, my IG is @avollink
  9. Upper arm lady head club, I think there's a picture in my gallery
  10. Erik posted some pictures of the filler he put on me a couple weeks ago, it wraps almost all the way around my arm so capturing it in one shot is impossible.https://instagram.com/p/3pSkH_DQRi/ You get the idea though
  11. I just mentioned those 4 sides of the arms because they're the biggest unbroken pieces of skin on the arm, and I think it's easier to fit small images around big ones instead of the other way around. I'm just kinda sharing what worked for me, and of course I am biased but am pretty happy with the way it's wrapping up, the cool thing about tattooing though is you can do it however you want (within reason of course) and as long as you get solid tattoos it should look pretty damn cool.
  12. @Greg Greg I think the best way to achieve the traditional kinda hodgepodge look is starting with the bigger pieces (inside/outside bicep, wrist/forearm) and then filling in around them. Once my newest tattoo heals up I'll try to get some pictures of the whole arm together to show what I mean. Stacking looks rad to me too if you want more smaller tattoos fit in.
  13. Welcome! If you have any specific questions feel free to ask here. Maybe let us know where you're located and what style of tattoo you like and we can point you in the right direction.
  14. Eagle battling a snake by none other than Chad Koeplinger, finished in 3 sessions, outline in Denver, shading and color in Austin. Sorry about the glare in the photo, my apartment has the worst lighting of all time.
  15. I love Chicago, but if you wanna go a bit further Ann Arbor is one of my favorite cities in the greater Midwest region. Tons of great food, cool stuff to see, and of course a bunch of great tattoo shops. Right in AA you've got Name Brand and Leo Zululeta's Spiral Tattoo, just down the road in Ypsilanti is Depot Town, and a bunch of the depot town guys just opened a shop in Hamtrack whose name escapes me right now.
  16. My parents, within the process of moving across the country (MI to CA) stopped by on their little pre-move road trip. Had a real nice day hanging out with them and doing fun little touristy stuff around town. Been about a year since I'd seen them last so it was really good to be together and just spend some time as a family. Also they're going to be living near San Jose so I'm selfishly getting excited about all the new tattoo opportunities I'll have available without having to worry about booking hotel rooms.
  17. @Synesthesia awesome! Excited to see it, Chad is the best. Have fun!
  18. The intro area is the only section you can start a new thread at first but feel free to join in on some conversations we have already started elsewhere.
  19. Got both sides of my elbow tattooed the other day, some well into the ditch, about to head in to work and I'm hoping I can limit the amount of motion I subject it to.
  20. @ItsNewport congrats! You've got a stunning piece there, and just 6 months? Champion.
  21. That last page was phenomenal, all you guys are killing it! Just getting back up the hill from Lifetime, pictures to come soon. I got some space filled with wings and eyeballs from Mr Von Bartholomaus and the lady got a rose from Matt. Fun times!
  22. Erik VonBatholomous (spelling?) Is in Denver over my bday weekend... Booked in for a little gap filler.
  23. Welcome, got any pictures to share?
