    hello

your welcome dustin..get better soon so you can help with the building!!! haha
  2. soo spent all yesterday stripping down baseboards..6 hrs total..well they used 4 different woods for the base with 4 different heights, and 1 long board was particle board so i cant stain it...needless to say it all got ripped out in a matter of about 30 minutes...oh well, gonna look better now
  3. so just started working on my new shop..all te legal BS took forever..something like 2 weeks to just change a few things and to have them give me a budget for the flooring. started removing all the paint from the baseboards last night..for some reason the idiots white washed everything! i will be posting pics as we progress more...nerve wrecking and fun at the same time..whoo hoo!!! my location on 2 busy streets in the heart of downtown..only 1 other "shop" down here in the heart. left wall of shop.. right corner of shop with a little work done
  4. thats awesome..have fun!!! at my last shop for the anniversary party, i came up with fortune cookie tattoo night. we stuffed furtune cookies with small flash designs (5-10min tattoos) whoever wanted tattooed that night put $25 in the jar and drew out a fortune cookie, what you drew out is what you got tattoed or you lost your $25..went over really well. i will be continuing this tradition at my new shop.
  5. such a rad story!! thats what the "magic' of tattooing is about...thanks for sharing
  6. yea dude..gotta travel, do some guest spots, learn from those...get tattooed by artists who you want to learn from, always helped me alot. i think it was filip leu who was talking about this in an interview... you will learn something that will take you to the next level, from there you will plateau for awhile...during this time you will put into practice what you have learned. learn how to use it to your advantage, how to incorporate it into your work, etc...that will go on until you take the next step.... i know when i was reading that article i was in a horrible rut/slump with my work. that pulled me out of it and lit a fire under my ass. hopefully that helps ya man..i think we all got thru it.
  7. hands down my throat/chin area..with a second being my palm/under fingers..
  8. i think the shamrock by my eye was one of my least painful ones..
  9. luke wessman from lucky's in san diego does some pretty sweet ones as well
  10. i will take that into consideration next time..thanks alot for the imput, i really appreciate it.
  11. suffer from it everyday...so bad that my thumb and first 2 fingers go numb, not in the oins and needles kinda way either...in the holy shit that really hurts kinda way. what is wierd is that i was on this diet called the flat belly diet...its really good food, hardly any salt and some other sciencey fatty stuff...well during those 2 months or so i had zero problems with my wrists and hands. salts and different fatty foods will bloat you and i think it really restricts the blood flow especially to the hands. as soon as i strayed from the diet i started getting those hand symptoms right away...need to go back on it..haha..i hate diets
  12. haha..that is one of the best things i have heard in a looong time..i get to stare at a higgs piece everyday i go to work...unfortunately its on the boss man and not me. i have too mant to list..most have been from conventions i have gone to(not working) but have been broke and just enough $$ to get airfare/hotel/meals and some books/shirts. there is definitely a few on this forum i want work from..hopefully we will cross paths in the near future so that can happen.

  19. i just got done working for a dude who had been tattooing for "13" years supposedly..california,east coast, etc..he had 6 tattoos, none bigger than a softball...he didnt know any history of our profession, had no desire to get anymore tattoos because they hurt or he was "too picky"..you would think after being around for at least 13 years he would know of key people in the industry..nope...he had no love for it, no desire to learn more about it or progress..he wasa happy doing his shitty color outline with watered down color look..his tattoos looked like they were aged 15 yrs or had a few laser sessions done on them, after they were healed in 2 weeks....the guy was a rad guy to be friends with but it got to the point where he would come into work, cancel his appointments and go to the bar....i lost all respect for him after awhile, why should i work hard for and give my hard earned money to someone who has no love for this industry...i put him up there with non tattooers honestly...i will never work for anyone like that again...i kinda had no other choice at the time....my 2cent ramble
  20. thanks guys..yea wierd spot, only spot he had that it would fit in...
  21. and i will throw out one more...biker skull on calf..going for just a raw look with it..
