oh hey, i happen to have in my flickr, a bloody photo of this panther. this was two sessions coz just booking in wherever there was time for chris. all of the outline and most of the black was already done from the first session. snapped this pic heading back to my truck to head home...

don't worry about it. if you're open to giving them some freedom to change it up some or do their interpretation then it will be fine...most likely. also, it sounds like it wouldn't be the best experience if the artist is just trudging through something they aren't really into.
 
and if they aren't into then keep looking or maybe rethink your idea some. i've def had ideas that i decided i wasn't into after a little time.

damn that sylvia snake/rose is awesome.
 
i got tattooed by scott a while back, nice dude, fast and it didn't hurt as much as some...i want him to do my back LOL.

big catheads too, i'm about to get my fourth i guess...but something on it's head and something in it's mouth and something around it...so different...
i said i wanted something else first but them mentioned the cathead thing and he sounded like he preferred to do that so...

the blunt honesty is a good thing, even if a bit jarring for the recipient. i mean, bad tattoos are for life, might as well tell them if they are getting junk...but then again there are always lasers or just blasting over the stuff...

@marley mission Thanks! Chelsea Kotzur at True Blue in ATX. She stays really low key, but is really an incredible painter, in my opinion. She really got me comfortable with serious tattooing and I love love love her lady heads. So I asked her if she would do a big piece on me. I gave her the elements and let her go nuts. Means a lot more to me than if it was from a big name I was getting as a collector that I didn't have a relationship with.

I'm going to stick to things I've seen in person, but tattoos by the following have always been astonishing when I've seen them:
Filip Leu
Chris Trevino
Henning
Mike Roper
Plenty of others too, but those four really stand out as being especially memorable. Instagram is cool and all that but for large scale stuff you need to see it in person to get the full impact.

I'm going to add Matt Arriola to that list thanks to @Avery Taylor and his wife Kim. They both have staggering work from him that they were nice enough to show me.

Just got this. The artist asked if i was cool with something less classic looking...i said yeah.

Matt Arriola pantherized my last big spot yesterday at Spotlight. He couldn't quite get it to fit, so he decided to add flames. Always a good call.


I have some inner thigh/tenderloin spots and a few tiny spaces on my legs, but if I said "I'm done" now, I don't think anyone would fault me.
But we all know that I'm not done.
