    Welcome to the world of good tattooing. To take a cheap route is to cheapen the tattoo and the experience itself. Take a step back, and ask why you really want a tattoo. Also, I hope you dont want to tattoo for solely this reason? "well they charged this, I can draw the basics, I can do it just as well...."

    Awesome man, real informative. Some tourist sights I may HAVE to see but for eats and brew, I always prefer the natives advice in any city. Plus dive bars are my preference. I was worried about costs of food/drinks. How long would you recommend a minimum stay? I feel a week would be a good start. And I would definitely have to get more than one tattoo while there

    Now that I'm traveling more, I'd really like to visit new York but I'm not exactly sure how to budget or how many days to stay, etc. For those that have visited there, how many days did you stay, estimated budget (if you mind sharing) was it enough? Obviously it'd be a tattoo trip but man I wouldn't know what all to do. Never been to a big city before Share thoughts and stories

    Oct 7 getting tattooed by Jesse Gordon at inksmith & rogers. He's got some new flash he painted so I'll be choosing something from those After that I'm going to plan for a trip to Austin and get tattooed at Rock of Ages

    Bahaha @Our Endless Days I have no business in tattooing other than being a collector, but I will say being able to draw doesn't always translate in being able to tattoo. Different mediums.

    Going to jacksonville in a month for my birthday to get tattooed and aside from the obvious choice, mike wilson, which location of artists do you guys recommend? I can't decide. I'm wanting to just do like a walk-in because I've never been to jacksonville and might be out doing some other things before getting tattooed, but I'm wanting to get our hotel relatively close to the shop

    People who enjoy shitty tattoos, it's usually because they don't know any better, and I leave that be because it will change nothing. However, in my group of friends I try to help them make a good decision, (telling them to stay away from the garbage in this town) but it's a bum feeling when that is perceived as cocky or pretentious. I don't care if you want a giant penis across your chest, at least make sure it's not a wonky penis.

    That was such an....odd pain. I guarantee I made some weird ass faces. I can't decide between my knee or ankle next. I wanna get my knee just to get it out the way/experience it but I have one side left on my lower leg.

    Yea I would never call someone's shit or be outright mean to any person. But if you ask me what's good and I'm honest or I talk about where I'd like to travel to get a new one that's simply because it's what I enjoy. She's also the proud wearer of an upside down tattoo which I did call her out on.

    A friends girlfriend called me cocky about my tattoos recently, and it got me thinking if I was alone in this. I'm not cocky about my own but i just don't prefer shitty tattoos so try to recommend places etc. when I see good tattoos I get excited, that is all. I guess it doesn't help that none of my friends are into tattoos. Sigh.

    I don't use anything, except lotion. In a healthy person you shouldn't have to use a healing ointment. Just keep it clean.
